Hey everyone! Was curious on how hard it was to land Boneyard growlers? What the price and availability?
What beers are you looking for, specifically? Typically, RPM & Hop Venom are the most readily available (though HV, not so much at the moment). In PDX, 64oz growlers of those would run in the $10-14 range, roughly.
Thanks for the responses! Yes, mainly wanted to know about RPM and Hop Venom, assuming beers like Notorious and Surge Knite are only around once in a while, and will demand bigger beers. I'll post an ISO once I have some ammunition
I would think some stuff from Bells or Founders (or the like) would pull some Hop Venom or RPM. I just think you'd have to go a little over $4$ just to entice one of these guys to put the shipping and handling efforts into shipping the growler. But thats just my 2cents
I don't know that Suge and Notorious really will demand "bigger" beers per se; it's still just gonna be a matter of filling a growler. The problem is that most places are going to do 32 oz max growler fills on these two. Last time I was at Imperial in Portland they were only filling 16 oz bottles with Notorious. Of course, these were capped so it was a pretty sweet deal. I'd personally want something a little "nicer" than Founders or Bells regular lineup just due to the logistics of having to plan ahead and shipping growlers - particularly on suge and notorious since those kegs kick quick. Maybe Pipeworks, Central Waters, KBS / Backwoods, etc. Anyway, should be easy if you have some patience. I'll be in Bend later in the month, so if it doesn't get done, shoot me a message and I'll hook you up.
Well I have access to Toppling Goliath, Surly, New Glarus, and Town Hall, so I'll see if anyone is interested
