I don't believe there's ever Ale Apothecary on tap, but it's possible I could be mistaken.

Ching Ching wasn't on tap at Bend Brewing, but I saw bottles at Newport Market, Broken Top and Brew Shop.

Ale Apothecary bottles at Broken Top (Sahalie, La Cuatro and La Tache) and Brew Shop (La Cuatro and La Tache). $25 to $27 a bottle.

    Correct, bottles only, no draft.

Be on the lookout for 10 Barrel's German Sparkle Party and flavored offshoots (Apricot/Raspberry/Cucumber Crush). Also draft only.

Boneyard may not be canning, but Tavour is bottling. :grinning:

What's the legality of this second-party bottling?

Is it any different from filling a growler? I know a couple growler fill places who will fill a 22 & cap it.

It's probably the same. I signed up for the email service, curious what they offer and what the prices are like.

I asked the same thing. Their reply was
They're definitely ramping up right now. It's pretty interesting to see how they're prototyping the whole model to get feedback (and revenue) while they actually build the full system. For example, they don't have an online ordering system implemented yet, so for now it's all done through email. Pretty smart though in my opinion, rather than waiting to get the ordering online and just spending money all the while, get some ad hoc system in place to gauge interest and make some money in the meantime.

My thought exactly. I'm also very impressed by the quality of the product put out by Tavour. I would be very curious to know what a "bomber" of hop venom sells for there.

I'm assuming that in some states this would be illegal, but otherwise.... why not have a 3rd party bottling service that provides this service to all the breweries in a given local? I don't know squat about the economics, but it seems possible that this could conceivably work out to be a considerable cost saving mechanism for many breweries that currently have their own bottling line, while allowing smaller breweries like Boneyard to offer a product they currently are unable to afford and/or provide.

Me too! They oversold the RPM, so to apologize they replaced two of my 3 bottles with Hop Venom. I'm not complaining. :grinning:

RPM was $8.20 for a bomber. A little pricey when you consider I normally see pints for $5, maybe $6 on draft (if memory serves). Mogli was $14.80 though, and I've only ever seen it for $17-18 around town.

Are they counter pressure filling with CO2 or just filling them and capping them off a tap?

Big difference right there but I would drink em fast either way.

If they got Boneyard's blessing and used a TTB approved label then I don't see how this would be any different than a mobile canning service.

If this becomes a thing, I bet people are going to start comparing the bottling service "growlers" to brewery-direct growlers and having separate trade values.

Their website says counter-pressured with CO2.

That is kinda steep, since I can get a counter pressure growler fill of RPM at 99 Bottles for $10 pretty much anytime I want. Mini-growlers are $5. Hop Venom growlers for $6/$12 when they have it (every few weeks).

99 Bottles is faaaaar though. And their other offerings so far have seemed pretty reasonably priced.

Helps that I work down there, so I can just swing by on my way back to Seattle. They always get Puyallup River's fruit saisons, too. Love 'em.
