I'm heading down with the family for a week Oct 23-30. The wife and I will have our son with us but my parents will be down as well and will babysit. So, are there any cool events going on during that time? I checked the events page and didn't see anything. Thanks for any tips.
To be honest, there aren't a lot of beer related events in the area any time of year. I'd recommend checking out Naples Beach Brewery on a Friday or Saturday when they're open. It's a small brewery, but they offer tours. Also, both Avenue Wine Cafe and South Street have solid draft lists. Other than that, you can always hit up Hurricane Wings at Coconut Point in Estero or Taps at Mercato in Naples.
No events, but hit up tw Naples, definitely the best selection around. I was in today and they still had plenty of mz, gg, and enjoy by.
Naples TW is usually a lot better than Ft. Myers in my experiences. Some good stuff seems to sit around in Ft. Myers though.
Don't waste your time going into that shit hole in fort myers. I've ranted about that place before on here, absolute, without a doubt, the worst customer experience I have ever had. I refuse to step foot in that store. Naples blows it away.
Are you driving down by chance? There a lot of great breweries in Florida (Cigar City/ Cycle/ Funky Buddha) to name a few.
Nope. Flying down. But flying into Tampa and driving to bonita. Cigar city will be hit right after we land.
I agree with the other comments, Total Wine & More in Naples is way better than the Ft. Myers location and I've experienced good, friendly knowledgeable customer service every time I've been there. I'm hoping to visit Naples Beach Brewery and Taps on my upcoming trip down there.
I just moved to the Fort Myers area from NYC about a month ago and, until yesterday, didn't understand all of the complaints about TW in FM. They seemed to always have a great selection on the shelves (including Life is Like, which lasted awhile) so I was happy. I hadn't really needed any help so I hadn't interacted with any of the employees, until yesterday. I called and asked to speak to someone in the beer department. I was put on hold until they could find a beer person. When the guy got on the phone I asked if they had any Cigar City Cubano Espresso and he said "Cigar City?
