So I went to my bottle shop yesterday to stock up (my fridge was looking a little bare). I picked up some six packs and several bombers. After I made my selections I went to the counter to check out I got a receipt and went on my about my day. Today I was going over the receipt and noticed that one of the six packs wasn’t on there so I called the store and told them what had happened. They thanked me for my honesty and basically told me that I got a free six pack. So on top of the beer day discount I got a free six pack. I was wondering if anyone else here had similar stories of getting bonus beer.
I cheers your honesty. What was the six pack? Can't say I've ever experienced the same thing. The only thing I can think of is when I go to small beer tastings and hang around after, they give extra pours just to kill bottles that are half-full. Just happened last wekeend with Cambridge brewing Co and Mystic. I practically got far more to drink after the event than I did during it. And got to chat with Will from CBC to boot.
That is really cool, I have yet to make it to a beer tasting event. This is the beer http://beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/16333/67634
I got a Sierra Nevada Hemisphere free from a local shop once and the worker at Bevmo brought in his Immelmans Barrel Roll for me for free since he didnt like porters. Cheers!
I did a mix a six at IM GAN's in RI and the guy didn't know how to ring up the singles so I ended up getting a sixer that should have been 12-15 for 9. Sadly I made a couple poor beer choices so it evened out really. Karma.
The 12 packs of Black Label (Canada's finest...ugh) come with, what I believe the package calls, three "bonus beers." I think that's the closest I have gotten from a store.
I often am given a beer by my local 'beer guy' in order to get some feedback on something he may be bringing in. Sometimes it's a new craft beer (I remember Hurricane Kitty before Keegan really hit this area), but usually it's to see if there's any crossover appeal to the craft shoppers with certain imports (they get a lot of Korean, Japanese and Turkish shoppers, so I've gotten to try that Korean Black Beer, Asahi Black, Efes Lager, etc.).
a local bottle shop has free beer tastings every month by me. you can go in hang out and they are very generous. most often you get a gift like a glass hat or shirt of the brewery hosting the event.
To the OP, you got 5 of my beers. In a bottle shop I selected a single bottle of something that I wanted to try, but I had other purchases too. After I got home I then realized that their scanner rang up a sixer of that beer instead of the single. The shop is 75 miles away so it was not worth the cost of going back to square up the error. So, I hope you enjoyed 5 of those freebies.
