Well that guy liked it before, so he should.

Yeah meant the original guy. 4/11 batch minus a few weeks brewing is probably one of the first batches made without the original guy.

For what it's worth, the other cans in the 4 pack seemed fine. So I don't know if I just got a bad can, I was totally off in my perception, or something else happened. I think I was just thrown because I was only having a 2-3 drinks on Friday and this 1 was so off.

So I guess I can continue buying them and not need to wait them out again

I haven't gone back since September and don't plan to. Too many better options out there taking my money.

There is just nothing positive happening here. I've been waiting a very long time to see something blow someone away, it's too bad.

It's good. What more does it need to be? Not everything can "blow you away", in fact nothing does for me anymore. There are too many great beers.

I tried Hobo Life, the Session IPA from Lord Hobo. It's good, but more bitterness than I like. It's pretty comparable to the one from Stone.

I've tried them all and just can justify the cash or calories with so many others options. But I see it everywhere, that's why I its a bummer. It's all over the seacoast up here.

I wish Consolation Prize had better availability; that to me is the best of the bunch by far, and one I buy every time I see a fresh four-pack.

If 75% of your 4 pack tasted decent, that's a marginal improvement over the 65% they were at a few months back.

The past two 4 packs I've had in CT have both been really good. Not sure of the date but maybe 4/25?? It's a welcome addition to the CT landscape and better than 80% of the offerings here so it gets in the buy zone for me.

I'd also like to say that Hobo Life is by far my favorite session IPA. It replaced my previous go to, Founders All-Day IPA. I tried Left of the Dial a year or two ago and enjoyed it but haven't gone back.

IMO its a pain in the ass to see everywhere since it doesnt sell that well at the stores i frequent, so its almost always old stock. If i saw it fresh more often id defiantely pick it up, but looking at the shelf and seeing 2 month old Boom Sauce or 10 day old Be Hoppy.. its an easy choice

I haven't had Boom Sauce in a while, but I had Consolation Prize the other day, and I liked it quite a bit. More than I remember liking Boom Sauce. It's definitely boozy, but still pretty well balanced.

Also, regarding the "old" brewer, I read that he (Vince Tursi) is now with Burial Brewing in NC. He also said that Hobo Life was the last recipe that he wrote at LHBC (according to his instagram).

I'm interested to see where LHBC goes from here, and I'm still hopeful. But I do find their lack of communication to be a bit of a turn off (not that they owe me anything).

Had a couple Steal this Cans yesterday at Yankee Lobster in Boston. They were pretty tasty.

    Gone. I liked that one.

Inconsistency from LH driving me crazy. I go from hating them to liking them & back again.

On the one hand I want to like them 'cuz LH is convenient to me & I like their vision of having widely avail hoppy beers on big production runs. But on the flip side I hate Lanigan' s bars & didn't care for his bravado that preceded LHB opening.

Consolation Prize is on another level. So. Damn. Good.

It's LHBC's best bar by far; drives me crazy that I see cases and cases of Boom Sauce and Hobo Life sitting around, but rarely see Consolation Prize. I always buy a couple four-packs when I see it, good stuff.

Every can I have from them is different than the last. Never know what you are going to get. Unfortunately the lack of consistency (even within the same 4pack) has driven me to hold off on buying any more until they figure something out.

That said - taproom is a cool place

I had this today and had no idea how old it was but it tasted mighty fresh to me.

Had boom sauce twice now and was not disappointed. Also just had the hobo life for the first time and on this hot summer cape day it has been a perfect fit to crush them
