Weren't there bars in Denver offering $5 pints of Boom Sauce? Someone needs to put into action the Cosmo Kramer/Newman 10 cent MI bottle redemption scheme for local craft beer.

$8.50 Boom Sauce snifters at Tavern in the Square Burlington.
However - across town, $5 stadium pint pours at local-yokel joint. So, YMMV.

But my real gripe is $15 4-packs of 5 month old (and up) 4 packs at packies. Nope.

On the brewery expansion... not so fast (maybe). Pretty bizarre, but for some reason I'm not all that surprised:

Late last month, in an announcement on its website, company officials revealed they intend to eventually build out that retail/restaurant component to include a full kitchen, a 200-seat beer hall, and a full bar. As part of the endeavor, Lord Hobo is hoping to obtain a so-called pouring license by the end of this year.

Technically, the City of Woburn holds no such permits, but local officials recently petitioned the state Legislature for passage of a bill granting several new liquor licenses, including the provision of so-called “pouring” permits.

    ...

According to Mercer-Bruen [Alderman], she was shocked to learn of Lord Hobo’s intentions, especially since she’s under the impression the business cannot undergo such an expansion without first modifying its special permit.

She subsequently asked her peers to yank the company before the council’s Special Permits Committee for an explanation, and earlier this week, in a 9-0 vote, the matter was referred to the subgroup.

Fwiw, the "special permit" referenced is related to zoning, not alcohol control. It sounds like the neighborhood has always been a bit apprehensive about potential impacts on parking and traffic and reluctantly granted a special permit to reduce the parking requirement by about 25% from what zoning laws require. It sounds like they also have another permit that allows their type of use in that zone.

Also interesting is that MA pub brewers--of which LHCB is one--don't actually get the right to pour pints automatically. They have to apply for a sec 12 license separately, just like any old restaurant, and thus are at the whims of the quota system as the blurb above illustrates. This is in contrast to the Farmer series pouring permits, used to Farmer-Breweries, that are issued outside of the quota system.
