My remaining can of 1/6 definitely says 8%. I wonder if it's changing going forward or whether it already changed and they're just using up the old stock of cans.

Was given a can from the 1/6 batch and it's still a very mediocre beer. The first batch I tried was a genuinely bad beer, so I suppose that is an improvement.

BS still doesn't shake a stick at anything Singlecut or Grimm (who actually do produce NE-style hoppy beers) are putting out and both are available on the shelves down here in NY.

The old batches of Boom Sauce remind me of Stone's Sorry, Not Sorry. Lots of malt and caramel, dark copper color and a beer trying to be tropical, but not quite hitting the spot. Really enjoying the new BS.

Wow, that article is ... bad. Inaccurate information (they have made more than 2 IPAs), a quarter of the article is a stolen quote from the Globe, and this awful waste of a sentence:

"If you've perused the craft beer selection of any local packy over the past few months, chances are good you've seen both of these on the shelves, likely right next to each other."

Informative. Keep churning out that content, Mr. managing editor.

Had a 12/28 batch. It was on point- I liked the prior stuff closer to inception- liked it all- was surprised by all the hissing on the forums I saw. For awhile I thought STC was a shade better, then I got a fresh BS and it blew my hair back- much more juice. I am out of state (west coast) but come back frequently to MA for business so will try it periodically. Looked at all the recent ratings over the last two months- seems to be trending upwards. Saw the BA brothers were there yesterday according to their insta. Do they do reviews afterwards I assume?

Just had BS for the first time in CNY. Pretty good. Would pick some up if available in cans at stores up here. Yet to see them. Maybe soon since some bars up here have it on tap.

@SmittyinNY their FB this morning shows them shipping out 2,400 cases of fresh stuff. NY was on the list. Ask them there maybe where their distributor is placing.

lots of 1/8 cans at Yankee this afternoon. I think there were also some 12/29 cans still stacked up though they might've been Steal This Can. Looking forward to trying it. Anxious while it chills.

I grabbed a four pack at my local beverage center this weekend and had one. I thought it was pretty solid, not anything crazy. I'll have to check the date on my cans.

Has anyone seen cans fresher than 1/6? Thanks,

Saw cans of boom sauce from October recently in two different stores. It just is not moving at any store around me.

I talked to my beer guy at my stops, and he said that after the initial hype it died off really quickly. He just stopped ordering it because it wasn't selling at all.

Hope they figure it out I am always willing to give breweries a second chance.

I just had this for the first time last night on tap and was impressed. Definitely solid to say the least. I never had the first batches so I have no idea how it compares to those.

    Specifics?

I believe a lot of the original comments (and I'll echo these) are that it was far too sweet/malty, which can be OK for an 8%+ IPA, but the hop side of the equation wasn't nearly enough to balance this out. The mouthfeel was a bit too sticky, simply not dry enough for an IPA. I believe the nose was weak on it too.

I actually didn't think the original was as terrible as the ratings made it seem, but it needed to be hoppier for me to make it a repeat purchase. Sounds like it's really improved too.

It wasn't served to me with any head on it so I can't properly speak to the aroma 100%. While it tasted a bit on the sweeter side, it didn't taste malty sweet so much. Instead the sweetness seemed passed onto the hop profile so the grapefruit and pineapple notes came across like candied grapefruit, candied pineapple. I really enjoyed it frankly, and I've become just as much of a jaded hop head like so many of us on here. That said, I'm really curious to now try it from the can to see there's consistency between draft and cans.

Solid beer from can now that I have had it. 2 weeks from canned date. Also enjoying Steal this Can as I type this. Another solid beer.

I frequent 5 or 6 liquor stores in the just north-of-boston area and all of them have had stacks of cases of BS and STC for months on end now. The piles of the early january batches are shorter than those old september batches, but they're still there. So at best it's highly variable as to how it moves.

Most seem to agree the new batches are improved, but its not obvious to me how much that has impacted sales yet. I can grab that 1/6 batch at all of the stores i frequent.

Had a can from the 1/26 batch. $14.99 for a 4-pk, ouch. 1/6 was better, this batch seemed a bit sweeter.
