checked these guys out last night. the space is really impressive. gigantic tasting room. then another gigantic tasting room that's a reservation / private parties only type thing (like another whole warehouse). I feel like I remember reading something about who funded this place but now I can't remember. definite big money behind it. they did a great job with the atmosphere - although it's veering a little bit on a club feel. they have pool, ping pong and shuffleboard. only had a few of the beers. the double IPA was nice. first beer I got - nose job - was supposed to be a west coast IPA but was clearly a Belgian. I mentioned it to the server and she poured some from the line and confirmed that it was the west coat IPA. so either the line was wrong or this was a bizarre IPA double IPA was nice. will check them out again down the road. anyone been?
I didn't detect any Belgian yeast with Nose Job- there was a metallic metal pipe taste that I found very unpleasant however. Yes the space at Boomtown is impressive, but I'd rather they focused their efforts on the beer. I didn't finish more than a few sips from any of the beers I had in my tasting flight.
