Have been seeing alot more of Boon Geuze and Kriek in stores lately @$10 for the Oude (750ml) is a great price, anyone try these recently and what your thoughts were?
The whole lineup just came back into the state, including Mariage Parfait Gueze and Mariage Parfait Kreik
I like the MP Guezue a lot. I havent tried the Kriek. If the MP is $10/750, thats a good deal on a good guezue. Its better than Cuve Rene IMO and is almost as available. Its really good, especially for a relatively high abv guezue (8%), which I think is harder to do right than something in the 4-6% range. Its not overly sour or funky, but a darn good anytime guezue.
No, not Shelton. I won't hold your breath on that happening anytime soon. We just got them in and I haven't had any but the standard Oude Gueze ($10.99/750ml). The Mariage Parait is more $, I think we have it at $13 or $14?? I thought the Oude over delivered for the price, but not as good as Hanssens. I'm hoping to try both MP's this weekend.
