Booth: Great Notion Brewing

I wish I had some pancakes or waffles to go with this beer. I love maple syrup so I knew I'd like this beer but damn!

 

I have had a hard time getting maple flavor in beer, the yeast loves to just turn it into ABV. What is your secret?

Let's talk about head. Some thick, heavy beers, which I feel like this qualifies as, are virtually flat. I always wish there was more foaminess to the head. Is there an art to getting good head producing carbonation in this style?

I love boysenberry pie at Bakers' Square. This beer has a very heavy syrup taste but dont taste much of boysenberry... I am a bit disappointed.. Anyone else?
