Well at the Abv id assume 120 isn't meant to be balanced. Quite the opposite. It's right on for what it was intended I'd guess.

True, but for what it is...it's still pretty well balanced, especially if you give it a year or two!

120 is phenominal with some age.

Booziest single IPA? None come to mind unless they aren't fresh.

As far as SINGLE IPA's go I've had a few bottles of Union Jack that had some heat to them.

Had a few friends over a few days ago and tasted 15-20 different beers. I didn't notice it in the Union Jack, but Double Jack definitely stuck out as being "boozy." If I recall from when I had it a few weeks ago, Hoptimum had the same quality. I don't really like it in a beer, even though I happily drink cask-strength whiskey neat.

Far from the booziest IPA I've had, but I found Ruination 2.0 to have a surprising booziness to it, despite it "only" being 8.5%.

Hell, I'm not going to be brewing any time soon, go ahead Odd Side, take my idea.

Honestly I haven't ever found any single IPA to taste boozy

I find Dirt Wolf to feel like a higher alcohol beer than comparable IPAs in same ABV range, so if that is what your definition of boozy is than that is my choice. I still really like that beer though.

Weird I found it somewhat light in body and easy to drink for an 8.5er.

completely agree with this... another one that is boozy, but tastes decent to me is DFH 120, devil dancer just didn't do it for me, had really hard time enjoying it.
