Cheese shop... Now we are talking. Good cheese is another thing that is hard to come by here. Freaking goverment here makes it tough with dumb ass laws involving pasturization of dairy products. I will add the Cheese shop to my to do list in the lowlands.

I won't be making it Thursday. I have a comedy gig to do here in Belgium and then I'll head for Utrecht hopefully to arrive there by noon on Friday so I can check into the hotel first. I'll then be heading straight to the festival.

Come on Tender, you go to Hill Farmstead, there are plenty of world class unpasturized cheese here in Vermont, as well as just across the border in Canada.

No doubt... but VT is far away and is definately an exceptional state for cheese compared to other places. I am a huge fan of Atwater Market in Montreal too. The French Canadians definately know cheese. Stop and Shop, Shaws ect freaking suck around here. I cannot even get sqweeky cheese curds to make poutine locally. I need an artisnal meat cheese store and and especially a Jamon shop near by!!

I'm staying in Amsterdam wednesday-sunday am.

I plan on seeing everyone at Utrecht Centraal, Friday. Are people transferring there?

I might be up for something Thursday night too.

Lots of people taking the 12:55 train in Utrecht. I'll be trying to make that as well.

I'm down for a Thursday night chillout, as long as the boss lets me out of my cage early. Cafe Belgie has the biggest beer list, but Legid Erf is probably the nicest place. Neither of them hold a candel to the places you'll ll see in Belgium though. Never been to this Rat place either?

I'll be all over De Molen, Struise, Narke, The Kernel, and whatever else is at the festival. Whatever Jeffery tells me to drink basically.

Just made my reservation for Utrecht, I'll be at the Apollo city center again, same as a few years ago. Tad expensive but it does the trick. The 3 minute walk from the station is just too tempting.

Sounds like Jeffery will be all over Jeff. :grimacing:

My game plan is to start out with the session beers and work my way up. But I'm sure that I'll give into peer pressure.

If I can I'll bring some homebrew for Thursday night. I assume at that's allowed in the bars?

My game plan is to start with a full 20oz pint of Messy like I did last year. Hit 'em early I say.

Bring your own beer to a bar? Happens all the time in these parts, but I've never done as much in any Utrecht bars. Erik will probably know more than I do. Worth a shot though.

Bringing your own beer to a bar in a country where you have to pay to use a restroom?
Never done it but I can only imagine how well that one would go over.

Messy is overrated. SIngle Black all the way!

Please Struise.... Bring some some Iced Beers. It would make Tender super happy:slight_smile:

Single Black was freaking awesome. It would be my session beer if I could by tons of it. I wouldn't say it was better than Messy though.

I plan on bringing some bottles to the rat... Worst case senerio we do a brown bag tasting on the street out front. Hobo style!

Yes! Hobo Tastings 'R US! That brings back memories (under another pretense...)

Let's plan to get together Thursday night for some Indonesian, Hobo style "tastings," then more hoboismness... It'll be Cafe Belgie this year I think =)
