This list is crazy. I can hardly contain myself.

Oh... I was also wondering where in Utrecht a man can get a good cup of coffee. Any ideas guys? Are they even selling good coffee around there? Especially to a foreigner like myself?

there are two Starbucks in Central Station. You might have never seen one of those.

Ofcourse we have the world famous coffeeshops

I like Simon Levelt @ Vismarkt. They have some mean espressos. Lots of lunchrooms actually have good coffee

Oh, you'll be in Utrecht as well? I'd go for a little pre-festival tasting/drinking thing, but won't be able to make it there until the 28th.

I got a mail yesterday from one of the brewers of Narke that they are still working on the list and that they will bring some awesome beers.......let's keep our fingers crossed. Like i told earlier they will NOT sell bottles before the festival starts or during the festival (bummer).

I am excited to try any Narke to be honest. I know they are a world class brewery and you NEVER see there stuff here stateside and the brewer seemed very nice at last years fest. Thanks for the info Thijs!

Mystery beer #6 will be a hoot!

Narke is more than just the Stormaktsporter. They had a couple nice beers last year, and for me, their version of Fyra Flammor was the winner a couple years back.

and so I was thinking of my game plan for Borefts...

Not sure what approach to take. Ofcourse there are some no-brainers that I'll have to try but my liver can only handle so much and time is limited.

Maybe I'll start with some of the low ABV offerings. Did that last year and that worked well for me. I wouldn't mind some of the Jester King Saisons, although this summer I discovered that American saisons do not differ that much from Belgian Saisons.
The 2nd half I'd probably will go head first into all the massive Imperial Stouts that are offered with ofcourse Narke on the top of that list because it is otherwise unatainable.

You guys got a game plan yet?

I was kind of wondering the same thing. As an American who has had very few (much less heard) of the beers at the festival, I have no idea which ones to seek out and what approach to take. I'm very excited and they all sound pretty awesome but there's no way I can try them all. So any advice would be appreciated.

Take a pint glass would be my advice. I wish I had last year.

I went 2 days last year. With so many choices of one off beers ect I would get completely ramashackled if I drank everything I wanted in one day. I am doing 2 days again this year. My liver may regret it:slight_frown:

I did get a chance to try Jester King Boxer King at Night of the Funk on Friday. It was delicious but pretty freaking sour Doppie. Not sure if you would dig it. I haven't tried anything from them besides the Black Metal. I don't believe that they sell bottles outside on Texas so although they are American they are pretty much foreign to me too. I was looking to chat it up and smooze with the brewers but allas... They were not pouring the beer at the fest:slight_frown:

So my buddy Peter got his passport back and will be traveling with me from London. Whoot whoot.... You guys are gonna have to deal with 2 Americans now!

My game plan is to start with the highest ABV thing there, then see where the day takes me... Probably to the sidewalk next to my bike on the Amsterdamsestreetway.

I have no idea what any of this means. Seems like my pre-Borfets training had paid off.
