Ive been holed up in my house for longer than I would like to admit with a busted ankle. Busted R ankle means no driving for me. Has this come and gone or can is this still sitting around on shelves (in Mass)?
Had a couple last night during the ball game. My initial impressions are: - it's unfiltered, but crystal clear. I recall last year's having a bit of haze to it.. nothing like some other NE beers, but a bit of haze for sure, and a straw yellow color. This year's is a bit darker and clear. I don't care about such things in general, just a noticeable difference. I actually just dug up some old pictures of last year's and they confirm my suspicion. - Nose and taste are also a bit of a downgrade, albeit this is hard to judge given a year between tastings. This is very good, but it seems like more of a straightforward mosaic bomb. I do have a bit of a cold so maybe that's impacting things. But in general this isn't living up to what I recall from last year. Last year I made sure to buy another six pack or two. This year I think I'll be satisfied with just the one.
Had one yesterday on a fresh palate. Was getting a strong onion-y flavor. Was pretty good at first, then that onion really started to get to me. The flavors overall of the beer never really melded together well. Mostly clear, there appeared to be a chill haze to it, but it was very minor. I think the date was 10/9, so only 19 days old.
