Any sightings on the south shore (work in Rockland, live in Plymouth)? I have not seen in: Luke's (today in Rockland, last week in Plymouth); Kappy's in Norwell (last week); Long Ridge in Plymouth (Sunday); Bradford's in Plymouth (last week).
I know for the south shore only 20 cases were brought in, because of covid related problems there wasn’t a high yield I’m told.
Haven't seen it, but in related news I saw Sucks in the cooler for the 1st time in a long while. Had it been discontinued and re-released this year? Good memories of it, perhaps I'll pick up a sixer by the weekend.
yep I’ve mentioned this in other threads that I found fresh sucks for the first time in a long time. Didn’t blow me away like it did in 2012, but at $10 a 6er it was good.
I was surprised to see it too this past week and then surprised again that I couldn't dig up much current reference to it here on BA. It was only 4 or 5 weeks old too if my Julian math checks out. My memory isn't great because I last had it way back before the initial switch to 32 oz. bottles, but here's my thoughts for whatever they're worth: Look: completely clear and a fairly light golden color. Has it always been like that? Smell: exactly like my best memory of first having it. I recall this being the first beer to really have that strong "juicy fruit" smell that's since become common. Taste: Not that much fruit but a nice fresh general hoppiness and moderate bitterness. Has a bit of a soapy aftertaste to me though. Feel: Thinner and crisper than I recall, but in a pleasant way. Overall I thought it was pretty good apart from that vaguely soapy aftertaste. Not as good as my memory of Born Yesterday though, so I'll opt for that if and when I see it.
Had it tonight. Certainly clear as can be, which is a change from years past. I know there was talk years past of the hazy version vs clearer between the two breweries. Taste is still very good but no where near as explosive. Overall still very enjoyable but not like years past. I had heard covid had something to do with the yield so will be interesting to see if any other info comes out. Wondering if this just couldn’t be done as well this year. Which is understandable.
@meefmoff is clearly talking about Sucks with the parts I bolded. I think @Jbrews is talking about Born Yesterday with the part I bolded and quoted. Born Yesterday has had turbid, hazy, and clear batches in the past. Many speculating the difference being which Lagunitas brewery brewed it.
