    Thanks for the suggestions everyone.

Trillium Beer Garden was an easy one. Went a few times with minimal lines. Had good wine for my wife too.

I was able to snag cans from Trillium Fort Point on Thursday afternoon with no line as well.

JM Curley was great- burgers were great, and a great beer selection.

Stoddards was ok-cool vibe, but I was relegated to the basement bar by the hostess, and I wasn't really blown away by the selection, but had some good beers nonetheless. Maybe a larger selection upstairs?

A few cool beer options were on tap as well at Bostonia public house.

    Cheers and thanks again!

I don't understand this statement...they consistently have an amazing tap list.

Yeah. Stoddard's has 20 lines upstairs but only 12 of them are split to the downstairs bar.

agree - I'm often bummed there isn't always Trill beers on tap but more often than not lately they have been. Always a great selection of styles and varied sources....and I believe they still do a cask on Friday's. When I visited in May they had Thornbridge Jaipur --an amazing real ale from the UK on handpump. Today's list below.

IMO Deep Ellum and Lulus cater to different beer geeks. Both are fun, just different. Deep Ellum has better balance to their beer menu with regards to domestic vs imports, and lagers vs ales. Lulus is domestic only and almost all ales (in fact, on 2 occasions, I noticed their miniscule lager menu listed an ale). If I want high quality imported lagers, Deep Ellum always has my back, Lulus doesn’t. Deep Ellum is also better for proper glassware and pour sizes relative to a beer’s style. They also have cask offerings while Lulus doesn’t.

Lulus hits bullseye for tickers of domestic IPAs and sours. Both great spots in their own way. Together they provide a great 1-2 punch being just a couple blocks from each other.

Haven't seen a cask on in months, unfortunately. I'm guessing that Jaipur had something to do with Nerax.

If they still do cask it's definitely not weekly unless I've been oblivious to it while pounding pints of Rothaus pils

I like LuLu's, but sometimes I think the menu, food and beer, is designed more for instagram than anything else. The food is tasty, but it's like they took a bunch of buzzwords and just stacked them together. Case in point:
    BAD ASS BURGER* $15
Natural beef with herbs + butter, stout braised short ribs, runny egg, topped with beer cheese soup. Chili cheese fries. Fork and knife recommended.

Like, that is designed primarily for an "OMG, this burger. #hangoverfood" instagram post.

And the beer list is usually 50%+ hazy IPAs. They've done a great job of hitting the current trends and I've always had a good time. But the menu is somehow both pedestrian and outlandish at the same time.

Oh I agree. I might tease the place one minute (i.e. the appearance of tater tots on multiple areas of the menu) and then gladly eat it all up the next minute. Fun times.

I do like that they have TVs with sports (with no volume). Most geek joints wouldn’t stoop so low to even consider having that.
