Going to be in Boston this weekend with my GF. Looking for less obvious, cool, local things to do/see/drink. The only place I'm going to, so far, is Harpoon, and this Italian festival. I know the BBC is around there, and Jacks Abbey is in Framingham. I'm looking for more under the radar breweries/bars/ and bottle shops in the area. Preferably things that are closer together. Also looking for any suggestions in the realms of food and stuff to do...
Trillium Brewing - their Fort Point Pale is excellent and their farmhouse ale gets great marks. Also check out the Boston Food Trucks schedule - if you come across Roxy's Grilled Cheese truck you will walk away a happy feller.
Not sure I'd call then "under the radar" - BUT Mystic Brewery, Night Shift Brewing, and Idle Hands Craft Ales are all within 1.5miles of each other (Night Shift & Idle Hands are side-by-side, and don't miss a Mystic tasting). All would be just be a short 5-10min drive from wherever you are in Boston that day.
BBC is about 2+ hours from Boston in Deerfield Ma. I recommend this place http://www.cambrew.com/ edit:wrong cambridge
