Visiting in the North End this wekend. Looking to make one store stop and visit Trillium. Heard that Bottles has new ownership and isn't what it was on my last visit. What's best, Bottles, Wild Duck, another in the North End, some place near Trillium?

Social wines is right up the street from Trillium, maybe a little more than a half mile direct shot up A St into southie.

North End isn't great beer-wise. Bottles is very small. If you're just looking to find a 6-pack of something to drink, you can find something okay. Wild Duck is a little better, and you can occasionally find some shelf turd releases, and some of the more local stuff like Jack's Abby.

People recommend Bee's Knees by Trillium, but I haven't been.

Bees Knees is a much better option that anything you'll find in the north end for sure. Decent selection and much more space than the North End shops

Boston Wine Exchange on Devonshire St. is maybe a 10 minute walk from the North End. I've been able to find some great beers there.
