I'll post this in the New England subgroup as well.

I'm traveling from DC to Boston tomorrow and I was wondering if there are any great spots I should stop at on the way up? Any place worth eating at and or grabbing a grawler.
    Thanks!

What way are you coming in, because depending (91 or 84?) you could backtrack down the pike and hit Treehouse or OEC on your way through CT. In the city itself Night Shift in Everett and Trillium in Fort Point are musts. Grab a beer (or something from their killer wine list) and some Island Creek Oysters at Row 34 next door to Trillium. Lord Hobo in Cambridge always has a fun tap list and tasty, albeit pricy, food. Right down the road is CBC. Next best would be Deep Ellum in Allston. Publick House in Brookline, Sunset Grill in Allston, Tip Tap Room, Lower Depths, and Magouns in Somerville all have nice tap lists and decent food. If you want better food and can sacrifice on beer selection a bit then eat at,The Daily Catch, Coppa, Toro, Pennypackers, Bon Me, Mei Mei, Lincoln Tavern, Puritan and Co., Alden and Harlow, Clio, or Menton.

Depending on how much time you have, and assuming you have a good amount of time, I would plan it like this:

    (1) Other Half Brewery - Take NJ Turnpike to I-278 (Staten Island Expressway) across the Verrazano to the BQE (still I-278), which eventually turns into the Gowanus Expwy. After you visit the brewery, continue up I-278 towards Queens and make a stop at Singlecut in Astoria. Afterwards, move to your next destination in Connecticut, New England Brewing Co., by heading east for a few miles to the Throgs Neck (Some might say go Whitestone, but the construction there lately has been a bitch).

    (2) New England Brew Co. - They have limited hours, and are often very busy, so plan accordingly.

    (3) Beer'd Brewing Co, Stonington CT - Not too far off the path of I-95, exit 91 (2nd to last exit) if I remember correctly.

    (3) Grey Sail Brewing, Westerly RI - A little off the path of I-95 towards Boston but definitely worth it, especially with their new DIPA. For food, check out the Malted Barley. Good place for lunch (not too filling; small portions) and a very solid tap list.

    (4) Trillium, Night Shift, Mystic - All in the Greater Boston area.

On the way home, try to go to Tree House (different route from I-95) but will eventually get you onto I-91 in Connecticut, which actually runs near New England Brew Co. So if you cant do NEBCO on the way up, do both on the way back.

This is definitely not easy but worth it if you have the time (and a DD!).

Also, if you have extra time (hard to tell because I listed so many options), try to visit Kane and Carton in NJ. Definitely a detour but a tasty one at that.

Already some great suggestions here, just wanted to throw an additional vote in for Treehouse. Unfortunately it doesn't look like they have Julius on tap this week, which is their flagship incredible IPA, but still worth a stop of you have the time since everything they do is great.

Between Boston and Treehouse is Worcester, which has Wormtown brewery - try to grab Be Hoppy IPA if you can, another excellent IPA. Also in Worcester is Arsmby Abby, excellent Belgian beer bar.

And I will also second/third votes for Trillium, Kane and Carton, all very worthy of stops although I'm sure Trillium will be insane considering they just reopened.

Are you stopping in Philly? If so, there are a whole nother slew of recs, probably a thread per page here that would be worth a look.
