I'll be heading to Boston over the summer and will only be in town for 2 days. Is there a must-see brewery in the city, preferably one near a T stop?
Trillium in Fort Point Channel. Easy walk from World Trade Center on the Silver Line or South Station on the Red. Just double check their hours. If you're getting just outside the city, Jack's Abby.
Trillium was an awesome place to go...It's been said twice already but for $8/32oz $15/63oz plus $5 glass you can't go wrong and its worth suggesting again haha. They let you try any of the beers they have absolutely free and are all extremely friendly/conversational. Hoping I get a chance to try Congress St. IPA at some point in the near future. I would also stop into the little store that's right next door Congress St Market since they had some pretty good beers kicking around in there (chocolate oak aged yeti in my case).
Awhile back, a kindly gent posted this useful thread for Boston visitors: http://beeradvocate.com/community/threads/visiting-boston-summer-13-edition.99268/
I wouldn't call anything "must see" but my vorte would be Trillium and Harpoon (they're close to each other so do both). Trillium has the better beer, but there really isn't anything to "see." Harpoon is the place to go to see things
It's a brew pub, not a brewery, so there are no tours, but sitting on the patio at the Cambridge Brewing Company on a nice summer day (or evening) is pretty awesome. Their Belgians and barrel aged beers are world-class. Easily accessible by T, and close to some excellent restaurants and other beer bars.
If you hit Trillium and Harpoon then a stop at Row 34 is a must ... Near Cambridge Brewing Co is Lord Hobo and The Meadhall.
