Have a business overnight trip to Albany next Wed and I’m going to drive the pike from Boston. Was going to hit up Fidens for cans. Any other must stop beer bars or breweries in far western MA or around Albany? Looked for a thread on this and struck out - any help/suggestions appreciated. Thx

Must-stop beer bars depends on the vibe you want.

Delaware Supply is our best beer bar. Super relaxed vibe, 12 taps, most wide-ranging selection in the area. You'll get NEIPA, pils, french cider, English mild, BA stout, saison, etc. Just an impeccably curated selection every time and with great cans usually cans and bottles (usually Suarez among others) to go.

If you're looking for a more energetic vibe, The Ruck, They've got 30 taps, a fantastic selection always, great food, TVs, bar shuffleboard, etc.

For breweries, The Warbler in Albany is terrific (especially for NEIPAs), Fort Orange is real solid too, but the best in the area are a little further out of Albany -- Unified Beer Works (Ballston Spa), Whitman (Saratoga), Browns (Troy) and Singlecut (Clifton Park).

I highly recommend taking route 2 instead of the Mass Pike on the way back. From Albany, hit up Bright Ideas in North Adams, Tree House Deerfield, Brick and Feather in Turners Falls (closed weds) for to-go beer, and Honest Weight in Orange (closed weds). The trip is way more scenic and you'll get to some great breweries that are often overlooked due to being in far Western mass away from the pike.

In Albany, I'm a big fan of Ale & Oyster and Pint Sized. As mentioned above, can also double down on Delaware supply and the warbler.

Will definitely co-sign A&O and PS too. A&O is best if you're looking to get a flight (24 drafts, all top-quality shit) and eat some upscale bar food and Pint Sized is best if you wanna grab a bunch of different cans or sit and enjoy a few outside. They have a good draft list too, but their on-premise can selection is for sure the draw there.
