Both Heady and SoS at Hunger Mountain

    I'm taking my yearly visit to family in Greensboro in early May and I'm trying to figure out if I can knock off Heady, SoS, and possibly Second Fiddle all in one day. I saw on the Alchemist and Lawson's websites that they both deliver to Hunger Mountain Coop in Montpelier on Thursdays. Does anyone know the details for this? It says they get cases of Heady but I've heard that stores are starting to break them down into 4 packs. It doesn't indicate if cases of SoS are available or if it's just 4 packs(and what quantity). I've also heard that they now get Second Fiddle but I'm not sure so any input there would be great.

    What's the process there? I know the usual place I go for Heady in Barre they always say it will be delivered anywhere from noon-3pm and I just get there at noon and hope it comes early. Will Heady and SoS get there around the same time. Will I be able to kill two birds (or possibly 3) with one stone if I go to Hunger Mountain and try to buy them both together?

    Second Fiddle is not canned regularly yet, usually a couple of weeks between cannings. You should be able to get Heady and SoS at Hunger Mt in one stop, but it is a total crap-shoot whether or not a Second Fiddle canning will coincide with you trip.

    Thanks for the info. Seems like a good place to be then. Heady around 9am, SoS around noon, then back home to Greensboro to HF after that. I'll check back to see if Second Fiddle is around the week before I go.

    Any other beers to seek out or places anyone would recommend between Greensboro and the Montpelier area?

    get in line for HT at 9 am or so to get a case. sometimes it lasts to 10 or 11. the SoS goes on the shelf at 9 and sometimes after. when i was there last week i got to HM at 10 --- got my case but no sos. I went back after hitting HF and it was available around 1pm. 1 4 pack limit per customer.

    this is what i scored last Thurs going up from Boston to VT-- get to HM by 9-10 --then hit up the convenience stores of Waterbury for more HT by the 4 pack (not necessary if you have a mule -- which I didn't ) -- hit HF by 11/11:30 -- then go back through Montpelier for more HT and SoS if needed. I'm not sure how you'd pull off Fiddlehead in addition --- would have to forgo the trip to HF.

    Will be doing a similar trip in late May but heading up the other side of the state (RT 22 & 7) through Burlington on our way to Little River. I know The Bevy in Winooski gets Heady on Thursday but does anybody know if they also get SOS on that day as well?

    My family's house in right in Greensboro so I'll be hitting up HF Thursday, Friday, and Saturday and probably only get to the Montpelier area on Thursday. I'll grab a case of Heady and a 4 pack of SoS and then I'll get as much HF as I can afford!

    I hear good things about Lost Nation but I've never been there. Does anyone have any info about them? They they have any bottles/cans available at the brewery or is it only special releases? I saw that they should be canning their Gose soon so hopefully that's available when I'm there.

    Go to Lost Nation. The food is awesome. They mostly have draft accounts, but they occasionally bottle. When they bottle they tend to condition it and it becomes something different. At least that is what they told me in January.

    And yes, go to Lost Nation and hang out with some food and beer. Both excellent.

    Yeah, I married into a great situation! They own the land where they have Circus Smirkus every year so anyone is from the area, they might know exactly where that is.

    So the HT is gone before noon on Thursday is what I am seeing here. No shot on Friday I guess. According to the website there are no spots with deliveries on Friday that sell cases. I guess my friends and I are out of luck on that front if we are heading to Waterbury on a Friday, correct?

    Not all it (at least not for sure). CBC in Waterbury usually has HT through Friday night / saturday morning (1 four-pack per).

    I didn't want to create a new thread, but this seemed close enough...I'm going to be in VT on Tuesday and was hoping to find HT/SOS/Second Fiddle. I know HT/SOS is in the waitsfield area on Tuesdays, but unfortunately I won't get there till around 2pm. I know I won't be able to score a case of HT, but is it even worth my effort looking for 4pks?

    Also, is SF even in stores? I read somewhere that it usually hits distro a few days after a canning, so I'm kinda hopeful with yesterday's release. Is there a list of stores that gets Fiddlehead? Couldn't find one online.

    Hit healthy living at 5 on Wednesday, you should be able to get ht and sip, + others on shelf, trader joes next door also has main beer for $4.99

    I was at Hunger Mountain at 10am two weeks ago and all the HT was gone.
