Bottle Collection LIF

    So I meant to create this LIF a few days ago after winning doogie71628's LIF, but I was having some technical issues with my computer. There seems like there's a few LIFs going on right now, but one more never hurts :slight_smile:.

    Sticking with doogie71628's theme of firsts here we go:

    My roommate and I started a bottle collection when we first started getting into craft beer right after we turned 21. The collection started off as a means of keeping track of the different beers we were trying. Since the start we have made sure that not a single bottle is a duplicate and I have personally tried every beer in the collection (my roommate has tried most).

    Unfortunately since my roommate and I are going separate ways (grad school) and the collection is getting too big, we have decided to throw everything out except a few select bottles (unless any local BAs happen to want anything).

    Now that the story is over here are the rules for the LIF:

    1. You must guess the exact # of bottles in the collection.
    2. To be eligible you must state a fun beer fact about yourself (ex.- interesting collections, habits, pretty much anything as long as it's true)

    Winner will receive their choice of either a Westy 12 + Hotd/Deschutes Conflux No. 1 (Collage) or 2 Collages (please do not participate if you already have some stashed away). Along with those two bottles I will throw in a few good locals.

    I'd like to get these out before I move, so if no one has guessed the correct # I will give it to the closest person.

    I will be releasing pictures of the collection and hints periodically- pretty much whenever I feel like it (most likely in the afternoon).

    Can't see the pic....probably my shit computer but I will guess 315.
    I did this same thing way back in 1992/93 and had well over 300 bottles (most of them were crap beers!) It was really cool until we moved, then it was the walk of shame to the dumpster. Sounded like we were a couple of hoarders cleaning up, got a few nasty looks as we dumped case after case of empty bottles!

    Haha. I actually live in the city. All I have to do is put them outside my front door and someone will come by within a half hour and collect them so they can deposit them. :slight_smile:

    No bottle deposit here in Texas, so I just looked like a real dickhead which I'm sure BA Miikezombie will soon chime in to confirm! :angry:

    I enjoy, and drank on my own...several bottles of Sam Adams triple bock. Including the '97 vintage!

    I made a lamp out of a 3L Chimay bottle, which was consumed for my college graduation, and in late April 2013, I will consume another 3L Chimay, and make that into a lamp. I intend to light my entire house with Chimay lamps at some point.

    483 bottles. Myself and my best friend and his brother use to drink every six pack of craft, but mostly imports at the time, that we could get in our little corner of the world. When they were empty we would keep three bottles and the carrier. Caefully cutting and folding the carrier in half and nailing to a wall so it looked like a three pack hanging there. After about two laps around the room with bottles we decided enough was enough and it was lookin a little too trashy so we took them down and threw them away.

    222 bottles.....I myself started saving bottles on my fireplace mantle. Once the mantle was full, I decided one had to come down for another to go up. So to be deemed 'mantle worthy' was a big deal. Now, I've removed most but I have a hard time taking down the RR......

    I collect bottle caps, bottles, the occasional six pack holder (if its cool) and my wife makes pretty cool artwork out of the caps and bottles that I'll allow her to.
