    We did this in college as well. Unfortunately our selection was limited and the craft beers were mostly sam adams seasonals or flying dog bottles. These days I just save and make magnets out of unique caps. Congrats on heading off to grad school!

    I also have a bottle collection that was finally going to get displayed when we finished our basement. That finally happened about a month ago but I have now been told it is too nice to display the bottles.

    Like a bunch have mentioned already, I collect bottle caps...no dups. Every time I gather a good amount of new ones, I glue little magnets to the back and then I put them on my homebrew kegorator (to which I've just added a nitro tap that I'm totally stoked about). If I ever win a LIF - my reciprocated LIF will involve this cap-magnet collection for sure.

    Fun fact: I did literally the same thing with my roommate this past academic year and it was sad to see all of the bottles go. I'm going to guess that we had the same number: 132

    When my friends and I first started drinking, talking about 17 years old here, we would drink the large oil cans of Labatt Blue. They were called Big Blues and we made a BigBlueamid. Finally I got sick of it falling and took it back for the .10 deposit...I got $29.40.

    [​IMG]Here's another pic. Someone somehow already guessed the exact current # of bottles. However I was doing it based on the # of different bottles I'm going to be throwing out on Thursday. We have one final tasting planned out for Wednesday to clear out some of my cellar. Some of the beers will be Mexican Cake, Hunahpu, Zhukov, Parabola, Abyss, and a couple others. I'm giving the lucky guesser to guess my current collection a consolation prize. Winner and the person who already won the consolation prize will be announced Wednesday night.

    Also I think I forgot to mention that the winner must start his own LIF sometime soon.

    The only bottle I have saved is from a tasting where I got 2oz of westy 12, loved it!
    If that disqualifies me (because I've tried westy) I totally understand

    2) I drank a whole Utopias in one night (after my grandmothers funeral:slight_frown: ) most expensive hangover ever. I thought I was going to die. I still have 1 bottle left and everytime I look at it I'm reminded of that horrible morning!

    The worst beer I've ever had by a considerable margin was Floris Chocolat. There is no describing how vile that stuff is. I understand how opinions can differ, but it absolutely boggles my mind how apparently people still like this filth enough for it to still be sold.
