Looking to do a trade but trying to gather info first so I can come with the right offer. Does anyone know the bottle count for the above mentioned bottles over the years?

    Also interested to know rankings

    DL
    Darkness
    Abyss
    Marshal Zhukov

Yes Abyss has it posted on its profile I see that but how many bottles in a barrel?

I'm not sure on exact counts but quite a bit for those
My rankings as far as tastiest go:
    1. Marshal Z
    2. Darkness/Dark Lord tie
    3. Abyss

I don't know the exact bottle count of any of the years of Zhukov, but they do see distribution so I'd imagine the count is pretty high except for maybe the earliest release years of it.

Abyss and Darkness are both decent bottle counts, so is Dark Lord. Don't know about MZ.

Abyss and Darkness are both much better than Diabeetus in a bottle.

I have no idea what the bottle counts were. The recent vintages would probably all take roughly the same to land. The hardest to land out of any of those would be a BA Dark Lord or an 07 Darkness

I think they all have their pros and cons.
    • DL - While this beer goes great on pancakes if maple isn't your flavor of syrup, it won't put hair on your body parts. It does provide you with the ePeen of acting like you are part of an "in" group that got together at the event, proceeded to get shit faced and not give a fuck about the beer developed for said event. You could possibly also toss in that "your buddy" won a variant and has gotten offers for a case of Don Q, but he's just too into the beer and respects FFF too much to sell out like that. He's just waiting to open it for a special occasion. Also, it will help make sure your pancreas is functioning. Plus the label is really cool because it describes most of the flavors in other great stouts. Plus it's a possible 2014 trade bait option.
    • Abyss - Unfortunately this doesn't have a release date, and you can get it year around in some parts, making this a shelf turd. Although early years have been great, 2009 is where this beer peaked in complexity. While the changes in the label and barrel treatment percentages may vary year to year, the brewers claim this award winning brew has been made with cherry bark since inception. The wax is thicker than others on the top, showing it has superior pedigree and longevity. You can probably order this online in six months and has no release day or special events. Every bottle has some barrel treatment, setting this apart from the rest of your list - so apples to gila monsters and whatnot.
    • Darkness - This beer is apparently good, but it will be like Pokemon once you've been mesmerized by one label, you'll have to catch them all. The release is said to be a great time and the beer comes in the much appreciated 750ml bottle, plus since it has a release event, it just gained 0.2 BTU, and looks real good in the cellar/closet. Having never consumed this beer, I can't speak to it's merits, but it certainly is more masculine than Dark Lord, even if it doesn't have green apple skins or bacon in the flavor profile. While the beer doesn't get too much hype around here, I imagine that will change in the coming months. A sure fire investment for a young entrepreneur like yourself. I would strike here, and trade **** with it later. This is like an option to never wear a rubber - raw dog some bitches with this meat.
    • Marshal Zhukov - Another annual release sans release day. This homage to communism is so thick, you'd think it's the cold war in your urethra. Glugging out of it's easily available online bottle, it reminds you that partnerships in drinking are good since taking this whole thing into you is something I've seen only in some short, black on white films. The label is simple, classic Cigar City with a character, a tale and a beer. This beer can be flat, carbed or somewhere in between. Probably the second sweetest behind Dark Lord, this beer is still masculine and offers a thick, dark, long finish. Oddly, last time I got it on my blouse it stained white and was real crunchy, indicating a possible residual sugar or something. The first time I had a whole Marshall I was hurtin' the next day, but now I can handle it. Make sure you get a few so you can work into the fit.
    Hope this clears things up!

    cheers
    harry

^^ wow well not really but I did get a good laugh out of it all. Was the first year for MZ 09? I was going to trade my 08, 11, and 12 Abyss along with my 09-12 MZ for some form of Darkness DL, was thinking combined age for combined age. So that is to say the 09 MZ would take either an 09 Darkness/DL or some combo to add up to 4 years and so on but this thread has just jumbled my mind instead of help. I really dig darkness and really would just like to expand my vert of DL. HAvent had MZ or Abyss yet but some how ended up with these older bottles of each

To clear up any confusion with this, they are not referring to spirit barrels that are used to age the beer in, as 3 out of 4 of these beers are not aged in barrels. They are referring to the measurement of barrels, which is 31 US gallons. That is why a half barrel keg is 15.5 gals.

Anybody have the BA All Time Least Best Beer List handy?

No, not worst beer list or lowest ranked beer list. I specifically want the Least Best beer list. You know, right in between best and worst....

    Least. Best.
