I think it's funny that most folks on threads like these seem to be OK with bottle limits, but I hear people bitch all the time in my neck of the woods when a store institutes any kind of bottle limit. "What? 1 bottle limit on Parabola? WTF, this is the free market, man! I should be able to buy every case you've got!" Obviously, I don't mind the bottle limits myself, but I'm also not a hoarder, big-time trader, etc.

All that to say, I'm stunned there's a bottle limit for anything from Stone. Those guys pump such a huge volume of each release!

I'm all for bottle limits. What I can't stand is when a shop holds a special release for brews that are not really too limited. I can see a special release day for all of the BCBS and variants and others like it but I have a shop by me that I swear has a special release once a month on a Saturday. That irritates me. Just release it when u get it and put a limit.

I like bottle limits, but wish more stores around me notified customers of their special new arrivals. It sucks when you visit a shop a couple times each week and are told "its not in yet", and then stop in 2 days later and find out it came in and sold out on the one day you werent there.

I feel like it depends on how many bottles the store gets; and even then if they do get a good amount, two bottle limit per person is fair, one bottle limit per person on very limited stuff. I am against the hoarder aspect in craft beer, but unfortunately unless all places institute a bottle limit then it's hard to control. I just want to be able to try as many different beers as possible, not drown myself in 50 bottles of it. Not everyone has the same view though, and I hope beer karma gets them!

Last week, a local beer store celebrated their one-year anniversary by releasing a limited or hard-to-find beer every hour on the hour from noon until closing. Needless to say, there was a bottle limit -- two for most beers -- that lasted through that hour, but was lifted at the start of the next hour. I thought that was a pretty fair deal.

Not a fan of when stores have limits but cashiers aren't aware of them...I haven't ever done it but in reality I'm sure at certain places you would walk out with a lot more than one or two. At large liquor stores or chain stores the average employee may have no real idea about it.

Hell yeah, the guy reserving the bottles was greedy but the store should have put purchase limits on a small supply when sending out an email like that. Unless they said first come, first served.

One guy reserved 80+% of the mocha stout and 50% of the anniversary on hand! If the store keeps allowing this the other potential customers may eventually stop coming by and will go elsewhere. A store near me would get sought after beer in every other week or so and then send out a text to people. I started to stop by to get some but they never had what they stated so I stopped going by there. Turned out the employees would get first dibs taking about half of the allotment and then pick and choose who was worthy of the rest of the beers at a one bottle limit. Now I go elsewhere.

dont hate the player hate the game. this is on the shop owner. maybe speak up. if enough people do, maybe u guys can get the policy changed so more people get a chance to sample the beer. i find it strange they hold bottles myself, ive never been able to get a store to do that.

Blame the store for being douche bags.

Just consider yourself lucky that this store will hold beers for you. For the most part, where I live there are usually bottle limits but it's also first come first served.
