My favorite of the week, drinking this now and it's sooooo good.

 

Tomorrow's rain should be interesting ... SoCal doesn't do well in the rain

hard to compare when one was a braggot/strong ale and the other is a stout.

 

I was referring to ballast point, not bottle logic regarding the lack of cleaning tasters per your previous post.

 

They're both technically braggots though, right, just with a different base beer? (In case it's not clear, this is a genuine question; I'm not that clear on what makes a braggot).

 

Lets head on over to the BJCP 2015 style guidelines:

 

(I apologize in advance for this, but I love taxonomy) But that guideline interpreted in the standard way would make IF not a braggot: a "mead made with malt" needs to get 50% of the fermentables from honey, otherwise it should a "beer made with honey", and I believe IF was like 70% malted barley. So we should be a bit looser on what counts as a braggot, and let anything that shows substantial malt and fermented honey character in, in my opinion.

 

3:30pm update. No lines, no rain. Trelleborg ring is WAY better than Montezuma Cliffs. It almost tastes like i got the wrong pour perhaps? I did toss the trelleborg from glass to glass a couple times to pull some carb off it as well.

 

Even though there’s no rain right now, Hats off to BL for covering half of the space back here with EZ ups.

 

Trelleborg...let down. Not a bad beer, but compared to everything else, it fell flat.

Wasn't a fan of trelleborg at all. Or the honey one. Stronger than fiction was great tho. More coconut than last year
