Montezuma > Stronger > Trelleborg in our case yesterday.

So, how does today work? I know Leche Reserva's on tap, but what about Borracho? Looking forward to the rain, with all the easy ups they have, it should be a fairly dry wet event. The walk there will be interesting though!

Got there around 9 last night. Only went to excavation and variants side and had about a 5min wait for both but you can definitely get 4 pours in comfortably Didn't check stasis but if it was anything like Tuesday night then that had the longest line. 10ish min wait?

The cahokia cacao is NOT good. Especially after Reserva. Nose to aftertaste. No bueno.

Reserva has the heat. Both from alcohol and peppers. No carb on it as well. Cant compare it to borracho as I've never had it.

gotta remember, Reserva is the tequila barrel side of that first bottling of Borracho just sitting in barrels longer. It won't make it to bottle as not a lot of it is left. So enjoy it at WOL while you can.

This year's Borracho is still in barrels. so no preview of that.

Leche Reserva needs bourbon barrels to help balance it. It was also totally flat, that didn’t help the experience. Leche Borracho is one of my favorite Stasis beers ever, I hope the next bottle release isn’t just tequila barrels.

That Roll for Initiative is still the darling of the week for me. I can’t drink enough of it.

I love Leche Borracho, it's one of my favorite Stasis releases. But Leche Reserva was a hot mess. Could barely finish my glass.

Can you elaborate on what made it a hot mess? I agree leche borracho has been my favorite release thus far.

Way, way, wayyyyyyyy too much heat. It overwhelmed all the other components. Using tequila barrels only instead of a blend with bourbon barrels gave it this agave aftertaste that I found to be extremely offputting in a stout. And the pour I had also was almost completely flat. Essentially tasted like liquid Red Hots/Big Red with a tequila finish. Not pleasant, and barely palateable. A far cry from the liquid gold that Leche Borracho is.

They may have spiked your pour with hot sauce, because I didn’t get any heat. It was more of a sweet pepper which was really good. Overall I thought it tasted great and had a nice nose but it was pretty flat and thin.

For me it was fine, not nearly as good as Leche Borracho. If it indeed has been sitting in barrels for much longer, you can certainly tell. Heavy on the tequila/mezcal, slight heat from the peppers and mildly sweet. Past its prime for my taste buds.

Are WOL exclusive beers only available during WOL? No packaging, future draft pours, etc.

    Yup. No future packaging plans.

Leche Reserva is a bit of a hit and miss for me. It may have been the sweetness, but I got quite a bit of chocolate from it, then the heat was all up in the back end. The longer we had the glass, the more peppery heat became apparent. By the end of sitting on that and Cacao for about 30 minutes, it was not pleasant to drink in quantity. And my mouth was all tingly and needed something to wash it down.

    Cacao was unenjoyable to me.

Also slightly confused how Roll for Initiative is still on.

I heard Lindsay planned on having it on for the entirety of WoL.

Yes ... however there is intent to bottle the Excavation beers, like Paisley Cave, if the beers come around with further aging.

Leche Reserva coulda used more heat imho. I would have like some more on the finish. It was HOT like Taco Bell hot sauce. Love the Saigon Cinnamon, which is my favorite type of Cinnamon and underused.
