I grabbed a 17 and reserve. The reserve is pretty boozey, has some hotness to it. Meanwhile, the 17 is smooooth as hell with strong vanilla notes.

FO 17 is tasting fantastic. Today was the day that I saw the most over indulging from folks. Really sad to see folks not know their limits. passed out or beyond wrecked in the front cause they were kicked out. It's hard to really limit how much anyone is actually drinking, and I thought the long lines would have helped with sobering up folks from going to hard. But wow, that requires some self control folks.

BL knocked it out this week with ease and even though the above comment was stated, that's more on folks knowing not to go hard. The event itself was done perfectly and executed so well. Bravo again for a really great week and the hard work and hours put in to making it run smoothly shined.

Went all 7 days and bottle logic put on a great event. Was really excited about FO today but both 18 and reserve were underwhelming. Really boozy. FO17 was tasting amazing though. It was a great event with many great tasting beers. Cheers to Bottle Logic, couldn’t have asked for anything more.

it is worth the note that the preview for FO18 is always going to be different than the final product. It happens every year that folks complain that the preview isn't tasting like the new hotness when it's still a work in progress.

Paisley Cave was my favorite of the week from the selections I tried. RFI, FO '17, FO Reserve and the Mikkeller collab were up there too. Freaking awesome event ... blessed to work & live so close to BL.

Good for BL making a profit on an unfinished product right?
Avoided WoL cause of this nonsense.

I give kudos to BL for giving us these previews. Who else shares early versions of their beer? The SIGNS do read “Early Version”

I completely get what you're saying but a lot of those beers were tasting fantastic. If all the preview beers were bad people wouldn't show up like they have been. There are a lot of other great beers that aren't a preview as well.

I wonder how those folks are feeling on this fine morning? Hopefully they didn't try to drive home yesterday. Craft beer hangovers are no joke.

There were way too many people who I saw last night clearly wobbling while still double-fisting some FOs.

Ya! Being forced to buy unfinished beer is just wrong! GTFO
All week I couldn’t stop myself from buying “early version” beer! And I’ll do it again next year!

Pretty sure you're the only person who has a problem with Bottle Logic selling an "unfinished product" in this situation, dude. It's called an early blend for a reason, people know that going into it, and spending their own money on it. It's cool to try a beer that's a work in progress. Bottle Logic isn't forcing anyone to drink it.

Sorry that you see it as "nonsense".

WOL very well run. Picked up bottles on Friday in about 30 seconds after entering, lines were short for anything, and very easy. If I’m being nit picky, it would be to put an exit only sign on the north side exit. I walked past the security guard not knowing it was an exit, and it wasn’t till I was past the food trucks that the security guard yelled something at me.
And if they could acquire more convenient parking that would be cool, but overall it was a well run event and a lot of other breweries should use this as how to run an event. They must have spent a lot of capital on all those iPads for sales. Hopefully, this will allow for quicker pick ups when big releases like FO happen later in the year, because last year sucked.

A counter point to "avoided WOL" comment.

I too missed WOL because its logistically not possible for me.

But I'm very happy that BL had a successful week. I would have been glad to try early releases of what I consider a world class barrel program. I also don't think profit is a bad word. I hope the week was profitable for BL so they will continue WOL for many years to come. In my mind good business is win-win on both sides of the transaction.

Last year I was able to get a good number of bottles in public sales due due the increased capacity. I hope I am as fortunate this year. My allocation pickups from The Bruery are so much more fun, when include a Bottle Logic pickup too.

Maybe I am the only one that sees that but people should see where I'm getting at. Selling an unfinished product at premium price is wrong. It's like trying BA stout with vanilla with no vanilla lol. That makes no sense. Trying Rum BA coffee stout and cinnamon stout without the coffee.....OK whatever. Much fan boys here.

I might see where you're getting at if the product was crap, but even my least favorite of the early blends that I had was still a pretty good beer. Bottle Logic isn't charging much more than they would for a pour on any other day, and you can just as easily not buy one of the early blend beers. There was plenty of other options. It's not about fanaticism, or buying something just because it says "Bottle Logic" on it. More often than not, they make really good beer, and it's cool to me, and I'm assuming other people, to try a beer that isn't considered "done".
