    Im surprised by the relatively low ABV on the new batch of Reaction State, particularly since it’s labeled as a double mash. These beers usually gain 1-2% in ABV from the barrel, so at 11.5% that means it went into the barrel at 9-10%. For a double mash, that seems like not that great of grain efficiency.

    I noticed that after I already had a taster of it, couldn't believe it was only 11.5%. It tasted fantastic so it didn't much matter to me that it was a bit more mellow than the average BL stout (12.5-14.5%?). It seems very balanced flavor-wise as well. The thickness from the double-mash really helped this one as I recall my last RS '19 bottle I had in mid-late 2021 tasting like a thin cinnamon/coffee bomb.

    I considered this review and decided to try the rum barrel one first since its typically not my thing and saved the gin one for last. Gotta say, it was pretty good, I threw a spherical ice cube in there too and I think that helped even out the bite from the booze but honestly it was pretty smooth to begin with. Love the concept and I hope they keep pumping out different varieties of these. Stoked to try the gin one next weekend!

    I'm going to guess they didn't achieve the attenuation they normally get, especially with a double mash. I don't see it as a bad thing since the higher final gravity should hold up in the barrel better and enhance the adjuncts.

    Just dropping into say... the two BA tiki beers they just did... super tasty and unique. Loved 'em over ice.

    Agreed. Has anyone added any garnishing to them or just enjoying them neat or on ice? Added a plumeria flower for looks on one of my pours!

    Got to drink the gin one on Saturday, incredible. Really hit all the right citrus and spirit notes perfectly. I tried this one neat as opposed to over a spherical ice cube and I didn't think It really needed it anyway until it approached room temperature. Definitely will be distro hunting for this one!

    Both of the cocktail-inspired beers are fantastic. I hope they explore deeper in that category and we get more of those kinds of releases. They truly taste like a delicious cocktail.

    The new Cryopreservation is incredible btw. It's just as good as b1 and the added thickness is a welcome addition.

    Anyone know whether Flesh to Stone was any harder to snag than other recent releases?

    Also curious as to thoughts on that one. I already thought Arcane b2 was more peach forward than b1 so I'd imagine this takes that to another level.

    Got the first order in from one site, waiting on the second. Would loved to have stocked up on Ghost Proton, Lost Coordinates and a few others, but wanted to try as many as possible since this (and trades) are the only way I can get my hands on BL
