My issue with '20 was the heat, no other vintage of FO burned like that one did

Agreed. the voodoo release and the other (can't recall the name atm) were great. Curious though what "other location" offered a 1 pp limit as BL had this set initially. shit, not even the eventbrite sale will offer more than 1 unless you score the local then here.

Past Leche Borracho’s have been 11% but this one is 14%…just curious why there’s such a big difference? Longer aging or different recipe?

Wondering if anyone is a fan of the Lightning series

Smoke Sting has got to be the most disgusting thing labeled as an ale i have ever tried

I didn't try the Smoke Sting since I'm not a fan of mezcal and I haven't had the chance to get over there since it was released, but I really liked the other two in that series (Hit It Skip It, and Return to Saturn) and thought they were spot on with the flavors they advertised. Everyone I've spoken to who've had the two I had really enjoyed them as well.

I chilled the hell out of it and it just tasted like Robitussin. Zero hints of Mezcal or berry, just loads of artificial flavor. I have to say i am not a fan of BL , but when i do try it i want to like it.
I am ,however , a fam of their lagers and IPAs.

Smoke Sting i bought for my wife but even she said it was undrinkable. Cascase is king of this style of beers to me. I suggest their 8oz cans if you like cocktail beersnstuff

If you lived much closer to BL you would be disappointed as well. I also only enjoy their Lagers and IPA's for the most part. A few BA stouts I do enjoy, and I mean a few.

Why would I need to live closer? I had the first two cocktail-style releases and they were amazing. I also love mezcal and heard good things about Smoke Sting, but it seems to have been a smaller batch so it hasn't been as easy to track down.

It seems to me like Resistance88 just keeps drinking styles he knows with 100% certainty that he doesn't like, yet continues to act freshly surprised when he gets the same result. And from multiple breweries. It's getting tired.

Paisley Cave 2022 is incredible. For me it's significantly better than 2020 and very, very, close to the 2018 batch. It's a lot of milk chocolate with some light roast on it, marshmallow sweetness throughout, and even when cold still a good amount of blueberry that really blows up and gets juicy as it gets to room temp. Walked out of there with a full allotment between my wife and I.

Completely agree. This batch is fantastic. Bought 3 bottles and might buy more.

are you tryina say I've been sexually molested?
is that a joke to you?
please keeo that kinda weirdo shit to yourself.
    weird ass goofy

most people don't understand. i voice my opinion to plenty of BL reps i see regularly and 3/4 agree with me. BL makes some of the sweetest stouts out here. way too sweet, missing the mark and marketed to people that like jet puffed marshmallows .
most reps agree that their stouts are wayyy too sweet and for a certain crowd in the beer scene.

and you always have some annoying shit to say. i get youre the BA mascot but the fact you question why i try beers ,whether i think ill enjoy or not, is stupid as fuck.
i loathe olives but will try one once every 2 months cuz palates change.
i enjoy Hoppin Frog (beers you also enjoy ) so maybe this has more.to do with you than myself.

i just saw this cuz i muted your annoying ass but now you're unmuted
keep it up ya BA Mascot.

ive known them all a while and they start up talkin ,so maybe?
i really enjoy their pales and ipas , but their Stasis Project stuff ( and this is prolly why they sit on shelves here in LA) is just way too sweet for me . i don't get what the big deal is , but im here for it. :kissing_heart:

I'd guess the $25-28 per 22oz bottle is the reason they sit. They should take a cue from Firestone and offer 12oz bottles for $12-15.

Those stout/bw bottles are 500ml, 16.9 oz, and not 22s. So the price per ounce is more glaring. I’m not too bothered by pricing as I pick my spots.

You been grinding that axe a while I see.

If you think BL stouts are sweet, you haven't had many modern stouts.

On a more serious note, you should seek help.

Does anyone know if they are planning on having some sort of membership?

None I'm aware of. In the past they would hold a Week of Logic that got you benefits if you showed up to their place every day for a week - things like bottle openers, growlers, glassware, etc with the ultimate prize being guaranteed advanced purchase access to their releases for a year. It was held in the spring so may be too early for any 2023 announcement.
No cost for "membership" apart from travel to BL and a beer each day. I'd even had mules buy the necessary beer for a day and give it to me as they only wanted the day's stamp.
