    It was always a balanced beer. So much barrel presence with just the right amount of vanilla. 2015 was great but 2017 has always been my fav.

    Opened a 2017 DSN tonight. Still such a wonderful beer, rye/molasses/barrel is so balanced and with 6-ish years on it, its so damn smooth. Near-zero alcohol burn. It's a tad thin and the flavor leaves your palate kind of quickly but otherwise still in great shape. I suppose you could sit on it longer if you have one, but its drinking great right now.

    The big stouts and barleywines from Bottle Logic consistently hold up over 5-6 years, even those with coffee and/or vanilla. Just my opinion of course, but I haven't found this with many other breweries.

    Just cracked a FOMO+ and it's outstanding. Chocolate, vanilla, bourbon, slight toffee, maple, and super smooth coffee notes.

    Was 2012 bottled? I remember trying the early batches at a festival in San Pedro think in 2014. Bomb stuff.

    Earliest bottle is 2014. Bottle Logic didn’t even exist in 2012.

    Interesting. Maybe what they had didn’t quite match up with expectations for HH and those barrels went into a different beer instead. I think they’re aware it’s their highest rate stout they’ve ever released, so I wouldn’t be surprised if they are trying to stick the landing again. Barrel aged beer can be quite fickle. Sometimes it does things you don’t want it to.

    Tell me more! How did you like it compared to Arcane Rituals?

    Can you compare it to any other English Barleywines I may have tried?
