Absolutely no lines on Sunday - it was nice and spacious. My personal rankings.

FOMO > FO > NC > FOCOCO > FOSCV > FOGM > GTFO

 

What were the thoughts on b5 FO? I was going to stay and try a few but family member did a surprise visit and only had time to grab bottles before doubling back home.

 

I got loads of vanilla from the tap. Very much up front and it mellows the end a bit. Better than FOb4 at first blush.

...I did NOT like the Number Crunch nearly as much from the tap. Thought there was something bitter-sharp and not sweet about it. Gotta open bottles for experiments.

 

Nice, always find the bottle is usually better when compared to the tap

 

Yeah, I'm not putting too much stock in some of the tasting notes from the draft (gotta admit, after the night before at BWSB and the morning after at BWLB my palate was...not 100%), and I'm curious if that slightly salty, bitter cacao is still there in the NC bottle.

 

FO base was suprisingly very good! Vanilla upfront with a light marshmallow flavor. Muted towards the back end, but overall very impressed.

 

Tried FO on tap and out of a bottle this weekend. It was very tasty. Solid base, good barrel character, sweet vanilla. As usual, Bottle was a bit better than draft, but that’s par the course for BL. Also had FOMO while there. Frickin’ delicious.

I wanted to stay longer and try more variants, but it was super hot and it kinda killed the experience.

 

I drank number crunch b1 yesterday good carbonation but it felt like a severely poor mans version of modem tones bovine outline. If you're not in the league then you would have a biased view of their BA program because any BA bottles the public gets is the leftovers that weren't worth buying up by league members

 

Yeah and those plastic cups woof. So much better in their tap room with glass. How does the b5 stack up against earlier batches? B3 if you get a good bottle is heavenly

 

Yeah I don’t do leagues or clubs these days. I don’t want to be obligated to go pick up since I don’t live near a MT. Plus I travel for work so I don’t have much time to drink what would be end up accumulating at home. My wife and I drank a number crunch yesterday. Thought it was terrific. Hard to imagine it being a poor man’s anything.

 

I thought it was as good as its ever been really. A tad more vanilla than last year but I think FO is a beer that’s been remarkably consistent despite what is often said here. Even when there is slightly less vanilla impacting the overall flavor, the end product is still divine.

 

Weird flex, but ok.

 

anyone heard a response from bottle logic on the "FO slugs" issue? ive seen a few videos on FB and am curious what causes that sort of thing.

True, but the amount of slug is a big difference from what I've seen in the past, to what's been posted in the last week.

 

Had one last sunday, no slugs but it oddly tasted like a rum BA stout. Pretty good but definitely not what I was expecting.

personally, ive only seen a touch of sediment (no big deal), nothing like this. what have they said about it?

 

I don't remember exactly, I would have to hunt and peck FB. I don't want to quote them wrong either but something along the lines of it's a natural occurrence in their process and is usually filtered out; however sometimes sludge slips through the filters when bottled. Beer boogers are safe for human consumption

 

Are you guys talking about SLUDGE?

All this slug talk has me wondering if this is the new oyster stout.

Anyway, stout goober talk has been a hot topic in the past.
