Bottle Logic Brewing (2019)

Had it at the BL Tap takeover last week at 3 Sons, was my favorite (and my group) beer from the night and that included FO and NC. It has a wonderful tropical and orange zest notes.

This has, “Maybe I will get a bottle in Distribution” all over it, otherwise no big deal.

 

Just had Sight and Mind over the weekend - good brew, liked it more than most. This comes as perfect timing.

 

Don’t get the barrel aged hype with these guys. Bought an outrageously priced $33 Number Crunch and $30 Fundamental Observation. I’ve had FO before and other Bottle Logic beers. The pricing is absurd for 500ml. Both beers were good. I’d rate them a 4 but paying essentially a price that implies it’s the most amazing beer ever leaves a huge disappointment. Plenty of barrel aged offerings I can get elsewhere that are half this price and same quality. Still have a bottle of Bastion in the fridge at $33 also outrageous and I’m sure I’ll regret that purchase. Never again with these guys. Huge mistake. These beers are on the same level as everyone else but price like they are 2x better and it’s just not the case.

 

Pricing from BL was $27.31 for NC and $26.26 for FO. Why are you paying 25% above their price?

 

Most small shops I’ve been to in the area will mark up their stasis bottles that much. I remember one shop I was at a few months back was trying to push a bottle of FOB5 for 37 lol.

 

I’d be curious which offerings you’re referencing - for science, of course.

BA stouts/beers are expensive everywhere, no doubt about it.

tbh, the 5 bucks to not have to be online when the sale happens, plus not having to drive out to BL is probably worth it. it is for me at least.

 

Why are you guys pretending their prices at the brewery aren’t still ridiculous?

 

Please, and thanks, point me in the direction of $15 adjunct BBA stouts that are as good as NC or FO.

 

It’s personal preference but I’d rather pay $15-17 for the BA HPB stouts any day. I like BL but I stick to drinking their stouts on tap on occasion and never buy bottles.

 

I'm wondering what BA Vanilla stouts are 1/2 the price and are competitive with FO?

I would say Monster Park Vanilla and Modem Tones Vanilla are competitive, but we are still talking $16 / 12 oz and $30 / 22oz, so not exactly 1/2 the price.

Also worth noting FO has a 4.73 rating currently, so 4.0 is not the consensus.

 

I'm happy paying for $25 bottles of FO any day of the week.

 

How about them IPA crowler prices as well

 

Okay, those $24 crowlers of Mint Condition (prior to the 16oz cans) were egregious.

 

BA adjunct stouts are a luxury item, do we REALLY count pennies per ounce when considering whether or not to purchase? My guess is no.

My guess is BL’s hype has rubbed some the wrong way and therefore they justify not buying bottles by calling them overpriced.
