Can't wait to buy more limited beer off the shelf thanks to the recession.

    Recession be damned...
I’m still waiting on coordinates for some world class $13-$15 adjunct BBA stouts. There's plenty of them from what I read.

For some reason, during recessions, people end up buying MORE liquor. Probably to ease the pain.

    That's a real easy one.

However, this does not necessarily apply to high end liquor or luxury pastry beer

Any of Modern Times Monsters Park, Modem Tones, Devil’s Teeth beers are not only cheaper but much better. Fine a shop marked up the price so I paid above the price you would at the brewery, let’s say Number Crunch is $28 at the brewery instead of $33 I paid (no idea if this is exact but I’m sure it’s in the ballpark). For a 500ml bottle that is still $1.7 per ounce.

I purchased today a Monsters Park variant and Mega Devil’s Teeth variant for $16.25 for a 12 oz. That’s $1.35 and they are significantly better beers. Tusk and Grain Rye Barrel Aged Rye Stout or Brandy Barrel Aged Coffee Porter, cost $15 for a 500ml so less than $1 per ounce. Hoppin’ Frog Rocky Mountain TORIS was $18 for a 22 oz, again less than a dollar per ounce. Mason Aleworks 24K I bought a 12 oz can for $5. I enjoyed all of these beers equally or more than Number Crunch rating all of them this way. All were cheaper (some dramatically so) and equal or better. Pretty straightforward what to purchase in future.

    Why guess? NC was $24.95.

Different people have different palates and preferences. Some people enjoy certain beers and will continue purchasing while others don't find it worth it. No harm, no foul imo.

I personally enjoy this year's batch of NC/FO and bought my fair share of each, but also bought a ton of Devil's Teeth, Monster's Park, and various other BL and MT releases. To each their own (full disclosure: part of both BL's Saving Throw and MT's League this year and way too broke because of it).

Instead of splitting hairs, just vote with your wallet and support the breweries you enjoy. Think it's personally silly to get nitty-gritty about a 30 cent difference of what's $1.615/oz vs $1.35 because at the end of the day, craft beer is definitely a luxury purchase. But hey, that's just my ramblings and my own opinion. Everyone's entitled to their own  Lots of great beers out there to enjoy and I can't say I've necessarily been that bummed out about a retail purchase.

I believe all prices have tax included for modern times beer bottles and cans to go. At least online during the member sales they do.

MT uses their own site. Doesn’t BL use Eventbrite?

No extra fees at MT for public sales either.

The most recent distributed BA MP (Mexican hot chocolate) can is $18.99 for 12 ounces...

Just thought I’d throw that out there.

Depends where you go. Shop by me has it for 15.99. I believe MT still has it on site as well for 16.25 tax and fees included.

I saw it at TW. Their prices are usually pretty good. This is pretty consistent though. The coffee version last year was the same price.

    Absolutely, amen brother. Perfectly stated.

I enjoy them all, as well as a crap ton of beers from out of state.

So we've had about two pages of arguments about pricing, which has been argued, hashed, rehashed, vilified, disputed, and any other thesaurus word you want to use. It's really boring and a waste of time and has been brought up ad nauseam in way too many forums to count. Bottom line is you're either going to think something's worth the price and buy, or take your money elsewhere. Now let's move the fuck on...

Bottle Logic had low bottle fill pours of the new barleywine Arcane Rituals last night. Pretty solid little barleywine IMHO. I was a little concerned about the mix of barrels as I'm not a fan of Cognac and I minimally like brandy, but in the ended melding pretty well.

I also have to say that the new iridescent (I think that is the correct word) metallic colors they've used for the labels on the past couple of releases look pretty awesome.

I don't like Cognac or Brandy in general, so I was definitely concerned as well. Glad to hear the positive feedback.

Dang, a bottle logic sale day and not a peep on here. It’s crazy how much of a difference a stout makes.
