Tried it today from the low-fills @ BL. Personally I wasn't such a fan, but if you're a fan of barrel flavor then this beer is for you. The hazelnut, berry, and touch of allspice were there but subtle, mainly to accentuate the flavors that were already there from the bourbon barrels they aged it in. I'm not a bourbon drinker, let alone a craft bourbon drinker so I feel like the nuance was lost on me. Perhaps others will appreciate it more than myself.

I had mine over the weekend and didn't have any metallic smell. Hopefully it went away completely as I thought that the beer was absolutely incredible. This was my first non FO beer from them and makes me continue to love their stouts.

Yeah I’m starting to wonder if it’s because the bottle dropped out of the fridge when I opened the door and started to leak a little. Maybe something there happened idk. It was definitely much better as it warmed up. Or, maybe it’s some type of sensitivity with smell that I have idk. Was a great stout.

Got to try Gem Condition tonight, thought it was really great. Milk chocolate mint throughout with minimal bourbon/barrel burn, very smooth imo. Like a liquid Andes mint (which I personally love) but less intense with the mint and more decadent chocolate flavor that came out the more it warmed. Easy max for me.

Anyone else have any issues with their Space Jam bottles? I grabbed one out of my "cellar" yesterday (dark cool-ish California closet), chilled it, and popped it but it tasted like raspberry vinegar, had to pour it out.

I'm thinking mine had more to do with the conditions it was stored in since the 2 I've opened that have been fridge-stored were both excellent. Just seeing if anyone else has had a similar experience or if I just learned a hard lesson yesterday.

I saw someone post about Bottle Cap issues with those bottles (caps popping off). But haven’t seen anything about off flavors yet. I’ve only opened one of my bottles (fridge kept, it was fine.

I did forget to mention that my cap looked fine after opening it, so I don't think it was that. I'm pretty sure I just learned a tough lesson, so I immediately stuck the last 2 I have in my beer fridge and hope they haven't turned to vinegar yet.

When i tried it on draft i got a lot of chocolate and coconut, with a subtle amount of raspberry. Opened a bottle a couple weeks later and thought there was a far more pronounced sour raspberry note

I bought my one bottle from a shop that had it stored at room temp and it was good. It actually sat in a 100 degree car for several hours the day I picked it up. Plus BL has them sitting out in ambient at the brewery when you pick up.

Hard to believe your closet caused the off flavors you describe without something else being wrong.

I've had three bottles, 1 amazing, 2 huge disappointments...the first bottle was at least two weeks fresher than the other two...sad, because the first one was so good.

Had a chance to try some of the new PSL-inspired barleywine and, yo, I could chug that stuff. I'd die, but I'd die happy.

Just revisiting the Space Jam commentary, having my only one now and really enjoying it in Ohio after it was shipped.

Raspberry adds that gummy sort of flavor like those German raspberry sticks, because the major characteristic is its luscious chocolatey body. It's accented by bourbon char and heat, and despite being fairly full, it dries out impressively. The coconut interacts with the barrel char, but otherwise is not a huge presence.
