Looks like I'm going to start passing on future strong ale releases. Majority of these recent releases have been disappointing.

 

This feels like a bonus release before they announce FO, and any "extra" releases are much appreciated.

I really enjoy the strong ales I've tried from BL - would be really interesting to see how the same ingredients from these strong ale releases would do in a their stout...a side-by-side of strong ale and stout with exactly the same ingredients. Or a dual release with complementary pours (cookies & milk, cake & ice cream, black & tan, pb & jelly) would be fun.

 

Any word on how The lost Colony is tasting? Phone's busted so I can't check untappd, no reviews here yet.

22 minutes?! So is this a case of large supply, low demand, or other? Fascinating. I figured just the word vanilla would incite a mob-like frenzy of beer nerds to swipe up every bottle in miliseconds.

 

Can't imagine it will last too much longer, it was a realllly well balanced rum BA'er when I had it last week. Maybe people are sleeping on it because of the impending FO release?

 

Maybe an eventbrite issue?

How in the world could those strong ales sell so quickly 2 weeks ago and we're 40 minutes in now with bottles still available? Really strange.

 

Twenty seven minutes, but who's counting?

The Ice Cream Strong Ales were much smaller releases -- the smallest we've done in quite a while.

 

It doesn't sell out in 30 seconds, it goes unavailable until they fall out of carts, it sells out usually in 15-20 mins. This one was 28 minutes.

The time it takes to go unavailable is more meaningful than the time it takes to sell out.

 

Not sure if it was brought up in the previous thread, but Draw Me Like One... is definitely one of the better new big beers in a while. I hope they bottle it
