Don't sleep on the collab w/ The Good Beer Company = Squared Fruit.

Had it yesterday in the GBC tasting room, DELICIOUS! Aged in Darkstar November barrels ... loads of deep dark stone fruits, supposedly brewed with 10 different types of fruit ... sour & jammy. Just a damn good beer.

Seems like it'll only be available under the GBC label (?).

If I'm not mistaken - and I often am! - wasn't the first batch of GBC Solera aged in Fundamental Observation barrels? Also quite delicious. I don't remember hearing the same of batch 2 but who knows...

So, what is with the definition of "adjunct"?

I see it commonly used to refer to added flavors however the brewing definition seems to be any unmalted grains and/or something besides malt that provides fermentable sugars to the brew process.

Also, DSN is molasses and rye, so I think it would be considered an adjunct stout, no?

Your description is correct, and it irks some folks on here real deeply when adjunct is casually used to mean flavor additive.

I think people use the word adjunct because they have an aversion to using terms like "added" or "additive flavorings," due to the abundance of the use on things like processed food products. But that's what they are, flavoring components that have nothing to do with the brewing process.

$26 for a 4 pack of BA DIPA. OUCH. This is getting out of control.

Thought this was a barrel aged IPA at first and the price point reasonable :astonished:

Will the steady increase in supply as more breweries are releasing beers in this style and format, prices should be be leveling off or even going down with the extra competition. That is not happening. They seem to instead be going up. Doesn't make sense. I think FOMO is a factor, and the consumer's weakness. We are buying products, hoping for quality, fearing the empty feeling of missing out. This is giving the seller all of the control.

If more breweries are making this style (which use less common grains and larger quantities of hops), doesn't that make the primary ingredients more expensive due to an increase demand and an assumed fixed/limited supply?

I'm seeing it on Eventbrite as $20/pack. Did they go in and change the price?

Wow, this is crazy. All it took was a few people voicing their concerns on here and a couple on the Facebook post and they knocked $4 off the packs. WE HAVE THE POWER GUYS!!!

EDIT: Also, thanks @bottlelogiclindsay for listening to the fans on this! You guys have the best customer service of any brewery in OC.

Ha, I did nothing but bring it to the attention of others. I wouldn't buy it anyways. The few canned IPAs I have had from them have been shit-tier by comparison to others I can get with relative ease. Still good in a pinch, but bleh otherwise.

But glad the reduction did come through for those that will go after it and enjoy it more than I. Because now you can get a burrito with that $4 savings. =P

Just like how Eureka lowered it from $45 to $30 for a bottle of FS in their raffle they had. That occurred minutes after Lyndsey addressed the issue in here. Im assuming that had something to do with the price being dropped.

Yes! That was me posting it on this forum. Luckily enough, I ended up winning the raffle (I went for 1 beer the night before). My post was not in vain.
