I'm mostly curious if the beer is going to be good. BottleLogic, to me, has been grossly underwhelming outside of some of their BA offerings.

^^^ This. It really does amaze me how great their Statis beers are compared to how consistently underwhelmed I am by most of their other beers. Still glad to see more breweries doing the hazy beers cause it will eventually kill off all the hype and people will have to find something else to stand in line for, like Beanie Babies.

Their hazy ipas have been syrupy sweet messes. Kinda disgusting if you ask me.

Reaction state is pretty awesome. More balanced than anticipated. More cinnamon than maple but not by much. Kinda like leche borracho with a maple finish in a good way

Ground state is smooth as Hell.. maybe a touch lighter than last year's. Fantastic.

    Heard RS went really fast.

    Anyone else get a pour?

I got a taster. Wish I knew they only had 13 bottles of RS, or else I would've gotten a full pour.

I think I preferred GS from last year slightly over GS from this year. Last year's was literally chocolate milk out of the bottle. This year had a little more coffee taste to me. Again, not bad at all, I just think last year's was a tiny tick above this year's for me.

RS is excellent though. Probably tied with the MT maple MP from Carnival of Caffeination for the best maple stout I've had (admittedly I've only had half a dozen or so). The maple was fully present, but light with none of the cloyingly sweet/leave your mouth coated in maple-so-you-can't-taste-anything-else feel (I'm looking at you Abnormal Maple Mornings). If you only got bottles of RS, you'll be very happy. If you only got bottles of GS, definitely try to swap a bottle or two for some RS if you can.

I'm curious, but what did you like better - RS or maple mornings?

I ask since I just had maple mornings a few days ago.

PS. I envy those that got to try GS and RS today!
I'll wait for my turn on Saturday.

I did as well. I think it lasted about 20 minutes past opening or so. Both were pretty damn good, and the maple from the RS really popped when it warmed up a bit. Damn good beer.

I had Maple Mornings and RS yesterday and RS was indeed better, although I do like MM a lot. RS was just balanced perfectly with the adjuncts but side by side with GS, GS ends up a pointless beer filler while waiting for more sips of RS. Its like having almost any BL stasis beer and than drinking dark wanderer. DW imo has always been a solid beer but tastes thin and flavorless if done side by side with any of other BL stasis and thats how I felt about drinking GS next to RS.

RS was better by far. Maple Mornings was too much maple syrup, coated the mouth so i couldn't taste much else for a while.

Wouldn't understand why a canned NE IPA from Bottle Logic should sell out? None of their regular IPA's stand above the pack. Hazeshift and Hazeflux weren't really all that great when comparing them to other NE IPA releases. It still amazes me that crowler/growler fills of these beers have been readily available, but these can releases people go ape shit for? No make sense.

This is assuming people that trip over themselves for hazy IPA's are smart, rational folks. It's just not so.

Because they are banking on cans for income or trade bait. The sad state of affairs.

    Cheers,

Going to the dinner tonight. I don't know why I thought it was going to be like the FO dinner, and have the option to buy a case of GS...I'm not a smart man.
