Well if you wait in line, its easier to bring your mom, dad, grandmom, and a couple workers from Home Depot. Makes it much worth the hours in line getting drunk on other peoples whales. "Sorry brah, my gf just got here, she just went to get me some coffee man, its cool right?"

I prefer online but can understand why some people to prefer waiting in lines. You're going to get mules in all kind of releases, though I'd argue raffles are the worst offenders due to minimal effort and people who wouldn't traditionally have mules being forced to sign up everyone they know to minimize their chances of a shut out.

Either way, as long as I get to drink it on tap on Sunday and (hopefully) taste a bottle in the future I don't really care that much.

Future raffle suggestion: Make every raffle entrant put down a credit card preauth using a CC #/billing address that doesn't match another entrant.

Lol raffles can't be the worst offenders because as a potential buyer you put almost ZERO effort into it. At the end of the day I don't end up really caring if I don't win a raffle and some other guys mom did. Don't really care. If that seriously bothers people they may need some form of psychological evaluation. But I understand beer reselling is a source of necessary income for these individuals.

Raffles lower the barrier of entry which makes it easier for mules and (like I said) increases the number of people who use mules in order to better their chances.

And while I don't condone how some people act like babies when they get shut out, let's not start judging people for being really into their hobby.

I'd prefer to see an entrance fee for the raffle. $5 donation to a charity or something. This will keep people from entering 20 times.

    Haha, no it won't.

Only other way I could see this being fairer, is all Eventbrite accounts that had purchased any bottle earlier during this t3 tenure would've had 1 raffle ticket to enter. But that's a lot of work so I don't blame just going straight raffle route.

Eh, neither better half nor I won. Almost relieved. This means that my buddy and I can do the OC bottle pickup run on saturday and avoid the week-of-logic chaos.

I saw a good chunk of people from San Diego won a bottle, so I might get to try it at a share or something anyways.

    Cheers to the winners.

Seems like a number of legitimate entrants could be passed over this way. Some guys have roommates. I don't, but some do.

Poorly worded on my part... as long as each person is using their own credit card it's fine if someone else lives at the same address in this mythical system. The idea is just that you don't have a family of 10 signup and all of them use the Dad's credit card for the entry.

Going by what has been posted before and sent out via emails, the CC name has to match the name of the purchaser and the DL to pickup the bottles, so this wouldn't work.

So, as long as the name and card # are different, the address could still be the same for the CCs, right? I mean, a lot of beer people are married to people who also legitimately like beer.

    EDIT:

    Nevermind. Haha.

"Raffle tickets are absolutely non-transferrable. If your ticket is selected as a winner, you are the only one who may purchase the bottle, and you are the only one who will be permitted to come pick it up in person with the valid ID that matches your ticket registration information and your human presence."

This is actually kind of vague. I mean I used my own card to buy my bottle, so I don't know if I could have used mine for someone else. I only had my brother(already going with me for GS/RS pickups) sign up and he didn't win. Anyone test?

Wonder how many entries that were selected for the raffle will not purchase bottles before the second drawing, as well as how many bottles won't be picked up after purchase.

^ they ask for DL in the Eventbrite sale but its never seemed like they checked anything other than the name when picking up. Could be wrong, though.

Been curious about that language as well - haven't tested it with BL but I did it with Abnormal (though they do not have this language in their sale text).

Honestly that's how it seemed to me. Felt like I put my DL# and name in as that is what they will be checking.

Perhaps there are some people that entered a free raffle from out of state and realize they don't want to shell out $700 for round trip airfare for 1x $25 bottle of beer no matter what the secondary value is. (Of course, there will be people who will do all of that.)

Or there has to be some small percentage of people who did not check their spam filter.

They'll definitely check the ID but, IIRC, they don't scan it and the "details check" seems to go faster than I'd think someone could check both the name and the DL#. Could be wrong though - they are pros. Haha.

Precisely. It should be interesting to see how many bottles are left unclaimed.

Founds has done that for years for KBS week. Its nice, they support a charity and it keeps people from entering everyone and their brother into the pool for tickets.
