Hmmm - I have something in cart, but it only allows me to use Paypal and it gives me an error over and over.

They mentioned why. Apparently BPT takes 11 days to pay them the money? I mean, I guess. But how much does Paypal take out to wet their beaks at the cost of the inconvenience of purchasing methods. I mean, it's still a third party taking your money.

I'm getting "An error has occurred and the transaction could not be created." at the checkout. Anyone?

    Hey guys,

BPT contacted us Thursday afternoon and said, "Unfortunately we cannot accommodate merchandise price levels (i.e. the sale of XXXXXX) that do not include admission to an event when sales are being processed through our credit card processor.

While we would still be more than happy to assist you in providing ticketing services for your event, you will have to implement your own credit card processor in order to have the sales activate for those price levels listed above. As we can not process sales for anything that isn't considered admission, you'll want to implement your own Custom Merchant Account (Authorize.net, Payflow, USA ePay, etc.) or a Paypal or Amazon Payments account. Any of these would allow you to do sales for your merchandise while still using our system for the reservation."

So we are only using Paypal because they pulled the rug out from under us less than 2 days from the start of our event. My understanding is that it will still take 12-15 days to receive payment, AND it costs us more to boot.

Seeing the other issues today makes it extremely unlikely we will ever use BPT again.

BPT is trying to get a hold of Bottle Logic. Problem with the payment receiver or something.

Sorry Bottle Logic! This sounds like a mega pain in the ass. We appreciate you trying to work with the community on this one.

I called BPT as well and they said that the errors in using PayPal is due to Bottle Logic needing to increase the amount of transactions they allow on PayPal. Apparently PayPal only allow XX (say 50) amounts of transactions in a given day and Bottle Logic has hit that amount. Bottle Logic is supposed to increase their PayPal transaction limits (I have no idea how), so that those with bottle in their cart can purchase them.

This sucks. My bottles are about to expire in 4 minutes. :slight_frown:

I lost bottles in my cart multiple times. Fortunately (or unfortunately for others with the same issues), a couple of single bottles came up and I was able to buy them individually over two separate transactions.

I've never had any of these issues with BPT purchases before of other beers/breweries. I wonder why BPT seems to be screwing BL over so hard. It makes no sense, making purchases easy/convenient = more purchases/sales = more money for everyone.

Actually I think it's two things - one, BPT's policies that are less favorable to breweries (like time to payment) and two, what you mentioned, "Bottle Logic is supposed to increase their PayPal transaction limits (I have no idea how), so that those with bottle in their cart can purchase." Basically the integration of Paypal with BPT. I think the latter was actually oversight by BL.

I really think blaming BPT on this stuff is like arguing that a car won't start for you when you're attempting to turn it on by placing the key in the cigarette lighter.

We do take responsibility for the issues and will work diligently to find a better provider. This is the email I received yesterday from BPT when verifying that everything was set up correctly.

"Thank you for contacting us with your follow up question. We pulled up your event and temporarily activated it (with price hidden so no unintended purchases were possible) to test and make sure the integration was working properly. The integration is working properly and the test order was transferred correctly to PayPal to make the payment."

HAHAHA. Finally got 1 in the cart and immediately yanked it from me telling me there's no more in inventory.

Mr. Squid, perhaps we have the wrong set of keys, but you can bet I won't try starting this same car again.

Besides Eventbrite, what other sites do you guys like using?

Was it actually in your cart or just 1 available? If the latter, that's just normal ticket inventory.

TBH, if the Paypal issue is all ironed out at this point, I don't think BPT is still half bad.
