I'll second that - Fundamental Observation was fantastic at Huna Day. Went to the Bottle Logic tap room on Saturday and wasn't impressed at all with anything they had on tap. They get hype on their special release beers, but their core beers are pretty unremarkable.

What all did they have on tap?

Is it just me or are the people who aren't a fan of Bottle Logic just salty because of the way releases have been handled since F.O.?

They said to test it out now before the actual sale.

I don't know that salty is the right word, but I am glad they have changed their view on selling bottles. They have every right to have people line up but I won't be one of those people. With today's technology there is no need for lines. The infrastructure is there to do it all online and save everyone lots of time. I like how bottle logic has this set up. No proxies, limited pick up window, and limiting bottle purchases but rewarding their biggest supporters.
At least if I miss out on this I will have only wasted about 5 minutes and won't have to kill 3-4 hours standing in a slow line.

Having drank F.O. and basically every other beer they hype up I can say I am just not a fan. To me their beer is mediocre at its best with maybe 1 or 2 shining stars.

How they handle the releases is a bit strange but hey whatever works for them. It is also fun to test out new release strategies. An example would be Alesmith, BPT -> lining up -> eventbrite. They tried and know what works and what doesn't for them. Sure we may not like it, but at the end of the day, we aren't the ones making the beer and dealing with all of the beind-the-scenes shit they are. We are just consuming, talking, and bitching about it.

Already did, it worked fine. I think you're missing the concern that could be alleviated by the suggestion of straining the system out and taking it for a test drive with the suggestion of having those T3's have a pre-window for that 1 extra bottle. I mean, if there's any shenanigans, those 910 bottles would have to be confirmed with the passport at pick up.

If it were to come down to it and I didn't get online in time to miss out, at least as a T3 person, Ii can say I have my one bottle and I'm not completely empty handed. But often, much like other bottle releases, if you take too long to input an option, you can find yourself missing out on everything.

I recall this happening with some folks during Monkish's Fruit Cart release. Even just taking the time to put the other beer into your basket from the drop down meant you risked losing the chance of getting Fruit Cart into there.

I hear you on that fruit cart issue. Hopefully BL will get this one down smooth, so the FO release won't be too crazy.

Definitely. I didn't even try to add Juteux, and I missed out on Fruit Cart!

On the positive side, there will be considerably more FO up for grabs.

On the negative side, there will be a helluva lot more people trying get their hands on FO than Fruit Cart.

On the other hand, there are no more hands. I think I'll pour me a beer.

On the bright side, if they stick with the no proxies and short pick up window, it won't matter how many people because people that aren't local won't be able to get any.

Provided this whole thing works as planned I think its a great idea.

The new email from bottle logic is great news for tier 3 rewards! A sigh of relief.

For those of you not a T3, it looks like the "extra bottle" for T3 rewards will be pulled from a separate pool of beers. T3s can liesurely buy the bottle any time during the sale week, so the concern about having to do an extra step during the mad dash on the regular sale is taken out of the equation. It basically equates to a "separate" sale with one bottle max per T3. In the future, bottles left over from the T3 sale will likely go to regular sales.

I think this is an awesome way to do it. THANKS BOTTLE LOGIC! Take the pressure off of us and pretty much guarantees T3s one bottle even if you aren't fast enough to get any at the regular sale.

Is this going to sell out in 90 seconds?

Interesting to see how guaranteeing like 800+? T3 members a bottle plays out. I understand their trying to honor their committment to T3 Rewards.

But guaranteeing a bottle vs allowing one beyond limits is different and changes the game. I understand not everyone maxes out but unless every release is 3-4k+, and keeping limits low, no proxies, short pickup windows will help but we shall see.

Honestly. I would prefer the option of a guaranteed bottle than the extra bottle IMO.

Definitely a fan of the no proxy approach, guess I'll be picking up my Bruery allocations during this window as well!

I just wish they would get away from the 500ml bottle size
