I wonder if eventbrite is prepared for what is coming

Does anyone know how the dinner went in previous years? Curious as to if there is a 1 ticket limit as well.

How exactly did they prevent proxies for the last online release? Did the name on the credit card have to match the name on the ID of the person picking it up?

Ha ha. the dinner last year is nothing compared to what it will be this year. You can get two tickets no problem, in fact, at that point FO was toured around at several events like L.A. beer week opening festivities, bruery anniversary and another or two. Tickets didn't sell out for at least a few days. They also didn't limit the amount of bottles you could buy there. They literally said you could buy as many as you wanted.

Again, at this point no one knew that it would be a hype monster. I bought tickets based on it sounding like an interesting thing as well as having had the beer at said events above before, was all up on it. I asked two dozen or so folks I knew if they wanted me to buy them any. All declined and had the assumption that they'll just buy it when it's sitting on the shelf like darkstar november b1 did. I think only two people really went hard and bought more than 2 cases at around 5-6 cases for their group. I went two deep. Yeah, I was hit up by all those friends who declined as soon as it went full on shit show.

A better example to compare how the dinner tickets will sell would be to put it up against the darkstar november dinner for the lB2 release. That sold out within a few seconds of going on sale and did have a hiccup on BPT. I hear they're bumping the number up from around 70 spots to close to 100 or a little more than that given they have a bigger location in mind with the other barrel room. But it's still going to be a mad dash to F5.

As for how they kept proxies down. No, they didn't match purchases to cc, but they did limit the window to a week for pick up and they did match name of event brite purchaser to person picking it up. So while you could still buy for a friend or whatever, that friend had to make it there that week. Cutting down the amount of proxies that typically cause these things to be sold out faster.

They did a good job at addressing the concerns and pulling it off successfully.

Anyone able to speak of how the blending event is going?

Heard from a buddy that the Heaven Hill blend looks to be leading the pack.

I had a great time. Met a few new friends.
Actually it was better than I expected.

My favorite was Buffalo trace barrel.
The nose was fantastic, marshmallow heaven.
Heaven hill was my second fav.

fundamental forces was a surprise, didn't know a fifth pour was coming!

I loved the glass to take home, now it's part of my collection!

I was VERY impressed with the blending event. BL did it up right for all the T3 people, especially considering they probably had A LOT more T3s than they thought they would at the start of the anniversary week.

In addition to the four tastings (one of each barrel) we also got a taste of Fundamental Forces, a higher ABV version of FO, which will supposedly be bottled sometime in the future when it's finished, and a free tasting glass to take home. Way to go above and beyond what was promised!

The only negatives about the event were that we all wanted more FO (or course, who wouldn't?!) and that the charcutiere went faster than expected. It was like people expected a full free lunch with people just piling huge amounts of food on plates without leaving some for others. If you didn't get some within the first 30 mins, the only thing left was cheese. Not BL's fault of course, just the tragedy of the commons...

I had an awesome time as well. Event was well run, there were a few nice surprised - charcuterie and pours of Fundamental Forces. I was at the 11am session. As far as my favorites:
    WL Weller > HH > 4R > BT
HH and 4R cold were pretty close when cold - Weller was a clear winner, but when warmed, HH was outstanding and pretty much on par with my favorite WLW...but the winner was a 40-40-20 blend of weller-hh-4r blended with Fundamental Forces. Oh and yeah, the glass was a nice touch as well.

I ate so much cheese and pig's face you guys. Oh, and the beer was awesome too I guess. If I were to rank the barrels:

1 Buffalo Trace - It had a great vanilla/marshmallow flavor to it.
2 Heaven Hill - Had that warming effect you get with booze.
3 Weller - I bit more subtle on the vanilla and pretty smooth
4 Four Roses - I was deep into the tasters and good so my sense of taste was pretty shot. It was good, I think?

But everything came snapping back with the Fundamental Forces. It didn't come off as alcohol-y and it had a pretty robust, wood flavor.

It was an awesome event that exceeded my expectations. Did anyone catch what barrel(s) Fundamental Forces was aged in? I couldn't hear what Stephen was saying in regards to Fundamental Forces.

Awesome glass by the way. I'd use it as a glass for when I want bourbon or scotch.

I don't recall ever hearing what barrel/s were used, just that they added more fermentable sugars?

My ranking from best to worst:
    Blend: All 4 (equal parts)
    Blend: HH+Weller (equal)
    Buffalo
Blend: The 4 minus Buffalo (equal with a bit more roses)
    4 Roses
    Forces
    HH
    Weller

I was very impressed with the event! All four variants were great, the charcuterie was outstanding, love the take-home glassware, no lines or issues, and it was all free out of appreciation for the fans. Great job @bottlelogiclindsay

Big props to Bottle Logic Brewing for a great event. I'm impressed with how they moved so many people through yesterday, and everyone I was with had nothing but good things to say. Echo others that Fundamental Forces with the take home glass was a great unexpected surprise. Didn't wait in a single line once inside either.

Great to taste the differences between barrels, and then how even just doing 4 equal parts of each improved the flavors so much. June is going to be a great month.

    Excellent people, and event. Cheers

Had a great time yesterday at the barrel tasting. Awesome event. I arrived at 10:40ish for the 11 o'clock session. Got checked in right at 10:55. Had a taster of each barrel within 10 mins at my table. The "food" they had, paired well with the beer. The Fundamental Forces was phenomenal. I can't wait untill the bottles come out. The take home glass that was served with Forces, was a cool surprise. Overall I had a great time, and can't thank Bottle Logic enough for this "free" event for their die hard supporters. Cheers
