there was no mention of any additional charges, which I would imagine is illegal to not disclose. there was an option for "pay with a debit or credit card," below the "sign into PayPal" option. I had to enter the card, exp. date, security code, etc. just like any other transaction. I guess we'll see, but I did pay with a credit card and it went off without a hitch or hassle.

No mention of fees out of your pocket. But when the business is getting their payment, I'm pretty sure Paypal is more than thrilled to wet their beaks on a certain percentage of the money transfer. Especially if it's from a Credit Card and not from someone's paypal balance.

Anyone heading to the release today? Any updates? I have been forever traumatized from the RR Beat release (7 hours in line) , I have no idea what time I should head over, I am getting anxiety and cold sweats just thinking about it.

Per their Instagram... 1000+ bottles available. They're going to hand out tickets to purchase bottles at 2:30pm, sales start at 4pm. After 6pm, they'll sell remaining bottles to people without tickets. There will be 5.25 gallons available on draft, 6oz pours. Still trying to figure out if I can make it out.

I got there about 10-15 min. Before 4:00 pm for the FO release, and got the full allocation. That being said, some of the couple hundred people behind me weren't so lucky. Given the hype on releases now a days, and especially given BLs FO release craziness, I'm going to estimate an hour beforehand and you should be good. I think they have enough for 200 people to get 4 bottles each.

    He's pulling your leg.

passionate dragon release had maybe 40-50 people in line. I was #36 or so. Tickets were given out and the sales went pretty fast. Not everyone got their full allotment. After the line cleared, was able to buy another allotment

Yeah, sours are a bit different than adjunct stouts. But I wouldn't think that pumpkin beer would be Fundy crazy, though it will attract a bit more attention than Passionate Dragon.

I dunno, never underestimate the power pumpkin flavored anything has over white girls, and by extension, their significant others...

Not in line today but I did notice a similar scenario play out when I trekked out for the FO release. While I am happy to see the community expand (males/females/younger/older) on that particular day it looked as if someone brought their aunts/grandparents along with to mule up. I wasn't right next to them in line however I did hear the question "What are we in line for?" asked at one point which was bothersome.

That said, it is what it is.

I bring my gf along to some releases but justify it to myself because she drinks/shares her allotments. I am sure others think negatively about our actions as well. I draw the line at people doing it for resale & I assume that is the only outcome for 20+ bottles of any given release. GI seems to be driving the changes to the culture w/ extravagant pricing ($60 for rare i think?) and lottery but until people decide to stop ponying up for what is popular and just drink what is good & available the same situation will play out over and over. I fear the bubble-burst, hopefully it doesn't wipe out some of my favorite spots.

I've seen people express disdain for this on forums and was even confronted by a douche in person about it (brought her to a Barrelworks release but didn't use her to increase my allocation). Why is my partner less entitled to an allotment than a neckbeard? I share every bottle I open with her and if she's really excited about a beer, she'll go out and buy it herself. Most of the time, I don't even max out on an allocation because all I can afford is one or two bottles since the price of special releases has skyrocketed as of late.
