I missed out on this release. Kicking myself. Anyone have an idea when I might expect the next release to happen? 1 year?

Correct, next FO will be around June 2017. In the meantime, they'll be Darkstar November, then Ground State.

im surprised ground state will return, considering it was an anniversary beer. ideation seemed that have only been a one time brew..

I am pretty sure it was because of the huge success of GS. Most everyone I talk to prefers it over DS.

Yeah, I don't think ideation ever took off. Bottles were around forever. The smart business move was to stick with what worked.

yeah, Ideation bottles can still be found. You also have Fundamental Forces in another 6 months till whenever it tells them it's ready.

Where are you still seeing bottles of Ideation? I'd love to snag more bottles.

Next Ground State went into Maple barrels right? That one should be interesting.

Is Red Eye November ever going to be bottled? That took Darkstar to a whole new crazy good level

Counterpoint, I'm 100% convinced that the only people who prefer in person line up sales are people who are thinking of ways to game the system and get more than they're supposed to.

But I might be wrong, people seem to love just sitting for hours in line for stuff that they might not get. It's ont he news every time there's a big lineup at some Best Buy or movie theater because people love lines. So maybe I'm just out of touch and America's Favorite Past Time is sitting in a parking lot in the hot sun waiting to buy something.

Pretty much everything I've seen come from out of market was not significantly better than in market stuff from CA. Most "hype" beer in other regions comes from the fact that they have 1-2 good breweries in the whole state so the whole brewery gets hyped because it's the only good thing in town.

Agreed, and I prefer to get shut out online than in line.

Yeah, I'm just hoping that they can fix the issue with the flavor/coffee loss. Redeye was AMAZING at the DSN release, however the flavor dropped off quite a bit by the WoL and I had to wonder if it was a different recipe, old keg, or some such other issue. Hopefully they'll get the issue resolved so Redeye will stay amazing (or improve) during cellaring.

I would anticipate it being totally and utterly stupid all day on Saturday. I would imagine they'd keep pouring FO throughout the day until closing at least (maybe the whole weekend?).

As for the FO variants and how long they will last, that's anyone's guess. Depends on what the variant is/are and how much they made of it. The only comparison would be Redeye November last year, which lasted until the next day or so, if I recall correctly. I'm just hoping they either have the tasting expansion open,, or get another one day/weekend permit for the back lot to deal with the crowd.

They'll be serving an FO Variant at tomorrow night's FO Dinner so I suspect that's the same variant that they'll have available at the FO release party as well.

If not, I'm all up for being pleasantly surprised!

Hoping it doesn't get too stupid on Saturday but I'll be there regardless. See some of you there!

Will there be a separate line for bottle/glass pick up?

I don't plan to stick around for long / at all.

For Leche they had a very slow moving line for pours but a fast moving and short line in back for bottle pick up so I'd assume they will do something similar for FO.
