Thanks for sharing! Looked like an awesome time.

Regarding portion sizes and 'finger foods' - with how rich the stuff looks, you don't want to eat more than that (not that you wouldn't be able to of course).

It is after all a beer pairing dinner so overloading on rich food would overwhelm the palate and take away from the brews themselves.

Goddamn you sir, I spent like 20 min. writing up a review with photos. So, since you didn't post a food review, I will do that now... BTW, I was at the very front table...

Ok, here's the rundown on the dinner (I will try to upload all the photos if possible). First and most importantly, great event and BL treated everyone great (even with the obnoxious drunk a-holes shouting in the back of the room).

So, we checked in with DL/Passport/ID that we fortunately managed get a ticket with. Seating was random. There were multiple "groups" of people who met up and thought they would sit together, but unless you were a +1, BL sat you at mixed tables. Personally, as a solo wait-lister, I very much appreciated this as opposed to sitting with a large group who might've ignored the solos:

After getting situated and meeting other table members, most of whom were solo, except for the two buddies randomly knew a good friend of mine from college, we sat in awkward silence/conversation until the first course arrived. Also, the back of your name card had what you were able to buy during the sale/T3/etc.

First course was hamachi, melon agua chile, avocado, pickled watermelon rind with Set to Stun with Fresh Melon. Honestly, not being a light beer person, the Set to Stun was REALLY good. The Hamachi was good as well (I love avocado), but I would've liked a little more hamachi.

The second course was stone fruit salad with ricotta, pistachio, and some honeycomb. I have not been a big stone fruit fan over my lifetime, but I really like this! Paired with Berliner Equation with Stone Fruit, which was also really good. The peaches weren't the ripest, but they worked really well with the beer.

Then came the lobster with pea vichyssoise, pickled kumquat, and sumac, paired with Haze Flux. This was great! As someone who isn't a lobster fan (sorry, although I like sushi, I don't liked cooked fish), this was probably the second best lobster I have ever had. The number one being Mr. X's Shiggity Shack (I kid you not) in St. Kitts, where they literally pull it from the ocean five feet away and drop it on the BBQ. The lobster flavor was mellow and not overly fishy, smooth, buttery, and the "pea soup" paired pretty well. The Haze Flux was a little too "juicy" for me for this pairing and was the only beer that I did not finish.

Then came the beef cheek with heirloom bean ragout, Baltic Porter demi-glace and herb crumble paired with Cobaltic Porter AND Bourbon Barrel Aged Cobaltic Porter aged 8 months in Buffalo Trace Bourbon Barrels. The beef cheek itself was really good, however the bean ragout was a little firm. Again, still awesome, but if we are nitpicking the the beans might've been soaked/stewed a little longer. The Cobaltic Porter was probably my second least favorite beer. However, the BBA Cobaltic Porter was AWESOME! Unfortunately, they only made 2 or 4 barrels (I forget which), so it will be an "on-tap" beer only.

Dessert Pt. Une, was foie gras, espresso, and Mt. Rainer cherries paired with both FO 2016 finished with Motra coffee. Having had foie gras only one time previously at Le Pigeon in Portland, I was expecting a very rich dish. The foie gras itself was too salty for me personally, but others at the table liked it. The chocolate and crumble was great however. Interesting, although the FO Mostra smelled exactly like a cup of coffee, I did not pick up much coffee flavor until after I had the salty foie gras. While FO Mostra was good, I think that OG FO was still better.

After that came Dessert Pt. Deux, which was a cheese plate including Humboldt Fog, Midnight Moon, Aged Cheddar, and OG FO. the OG FO worked well with the cheese, although the cheese was a bit strong at time and slightly overpowered the FO. We were also given a 2016 FO glass to take home with us! AWESOME plus BL!

Finally, they surprised us with a glass of Fundamental Forces, which, for those who made it to the FO barrel blending was awesome! At this point the estimated ABV to be around 16%. They also gave us a bit of chocolate covered toffee to go along with the FF. Unfortunately, as amazing as both were individually, the toffee overpowered the FF, so I would not recommend doing them together. BL also gave us the FF glass (same glass as the blending event) to take home with us!

All in all, this was an amazing event! The food was excellent, the service was excellent, and the company was pretty darn good (once we had a couple of drinks in us  ). I am SO glad I was fortunate to be able to participate in this event and I would HIGHLY recommend it to anyone EVEN IF there wasn't an optional 12 bottle FO buy at the end of the night... wait, I mean I would highly NOT recommend it to any one else... cause then I might not be able to attend!

In closing, I'll try to give you the FO bottle ****, but not certain it'll show up with my Imagur link. I can try to post additional pics if people are interested.

Food portion were actually a good size and not gerber portion. Every beer paired well and an awesome dinner and got to talk to some great people.

Pretty sure that was a 2000+ calorie meal. Not enough for some people? I guess. I'm no athlete though. It was way more than enough for me.

Oh man, for all those that were there, I have heard a tale that has to be rooted in some truth: is it true, that some dinner ticket winners were denied their right to buy an allotment because Bottle Logic (and all their greatness) investigated and found out who are individuals that sell beer on the secondary market? If this is even remotely true, and it denied one known beer creep IMHO, oh my god, I am so so happy!

Interesting, I didn't see anyone getting turned away from getting their allotment but would be interested to hear more about this.

I got my bottles after about 2/3's of the people did at the first seating and then hung around a little bit. Didn't hear/see anyone throwing a hissy fit, which DEFINITELY would've happened if someone would've been denied bottles. Maybe it happened at the second seating, but more likely just something someone made up... Although it definitely would've been awesome if BL did that!

There were definitely some well known profiteers in attendance there, so that would have be too funny!
