Bottle Logic Brewing Thread

when i was in the tasting room the other day, one of the bartenders ( i think he was possibly a shift manager?) told me that they are giving into "hype" and are actually doing a collab just for hype...with 3 sons. I believe he called it fundamental summation. Hopefully ill have a glimpse of a chance of trying it whenever it does end up coming out.

 

And... that was already reported early in the thread that the 3 sons brewer was in town and doing a beer with them. So not really that shocking.

Heaven forbid a brewery wants to promote their own beers in a fashion that will generate an income.

 

if youre under the impression i was talking shit, i was not. I was actually expressing concern on how difficult it will be to get it. if a beer is made just FOR hype, i dont even want to know how much of a headache it will be to try and buy it. but we will see.

they should just make a beer called hype. BA Hype with coconut, vanilla, coffee, and chocolate aged in bourbon, whiskey, rye, and used unrised FO barrels lol.

 

how crazy do u think itll be tomorrow for the bottle pickups?

also anyone know if they will have anything special on tap for the release?

 

Packed to the gills... Don't bother going... Especially since I need to pick up my bottle.

In my experience the first pick-up day of non-FO online sale pickups tend to be a bit more crowded than usual, but not SHITSHOW level. Probably a decent line (15 min.) at the bar (unless they open the back one), but you should be able to grab your bottles fairly quick in that line.

Only thing "special" on tap will likely be Stronger then Fiction, unless some of their "one-offs" from this week haven't been dusted yet.

 

FO pick up wasn't bad this year if you came after 5pm, but not sure if kegs will tap by that time.

Plus many are going to Stones Anniversary too.

 

Plus strong ale isnt as hyped as a imperial stout with vanilla. FO had a huge following since the first release.

 

Anyone down there that can tell us how busy it is right now?

 

Tame enough for me to be on BA while running bottle pick up. Maybe seven people in line at the bar. Should be a mellow day!

 

Haven't seen more than 15 or so in both the tap line or the bottle line since they opened.

BTW, first impression: strong coco-caramel nose. As it warms, the coffee comes in, but the coconut is the dominant flavor. My trading partners will be happy.

 

I'm really digging the Stronger Than Fiction and bummed that I didn't buy the full allotment of bottles. I'm a sucker for that coconut goodness.

Agreed. Tastes great and is dangerously drinkable for the ABV.

 

Looks like "Picture If You Will" is making a comeback this year for late September release. While I really enjoyed it last year's version I didn't pick up much pumpkin flavor from the beer. Lots of pumpkin pie spice flavor, just not much actual pumpkin flavor.

I've also been wondering how its aged. Anyone open a bottle recently?

 

Question - what is pumpkin flavor? Given that gourds are pretty flavorless. Typically it's that pumpkin pie/spice flavor that one would think of the overused seasonal beer flavor.

 

Where'd you hear this? This was one of my favorite beers of last year, super pumped!

 

Any idea if StF is still pouring today?

That list was last updated on Saturday but they are very good about updating the list when something runs out. I was there at 3pm yesterday and it was still pouring.
