Hmmm, good question. My only answer would be that pumpkin tastes like pumpkin. If you've ever bought/used canned 100% pumpkin (Libby's?), that's the flavor I was expecting more of, especially given their description talked up how it emulated a slice of pumpkin pie. I definitely got all the spices that go INTO a pumpkin pie, just not much pumpkin itself.

Yesterday's (or today's) FB post about how they will be putting a keg of STF on tap each week leading up the late September release of PIYW.

Looks like Haze Shift will be on tap soon. Does Anyone actually know when?

If true, this is great news. It's been too long since the last batch.

Check the link below. If you use untappd, you can get a notification when Bottle Logic adds it to their menu.

Had it yesterday as well. A lot of coconut when cold. Really boozy, but in a great way, I enjoyed my pour a lot. Agree on the coffee, it was more of the bitterness and roasty/smoky and not full coffee flavor like in Ground State, but it was still nice. I'm really curious how the bottle will taste in a few months when the coconut fades a little.

How much coconut will be lost in a few months, minor?

I drank a last snow recently, and while the nose was beautiful, very little coconut was left in the body - and it definitely was not amazing. That being said, I would only trade for fresh Last Snow.

I'm guessing when it's BA, less coconut is lost? I mention it, b/c ones like coconut resolute & prop 13 still hold it's incredible trade value. Unless people don't take that into account, but people are no dummies in regards to their beer!

I'm not really that sure. Don't have too much experience with BA stouts/heavier beers with a lot of coconut...and as much as I love coconut, I'm really curious how this beer will taste without so much coconut, which for now, clearly dominates all the other flavors. Again, I'm not saying it's bad, I actually like it a lot, just curious how it will evolve.
I did have similar experience with Last Snow, as much as I still like it with a few months on it, it's not the same as fresh. Not sure about coconut resolute, but Prop is just a BCBS variant, so no matter if it's coconut, or berries or vanilla, those always hold their value. Well, at least <2015

Last Snow 2014 is still drinking great. The batches released in 2015 and 2016 seem to have a significantly lighter mouthfeel and less coconut on the taste but still the same on the nose.

The label for Stranger encourages people to drink it fresh, so I don't know if that tells you something about the coconut drop-off.

Probably the best its going to drink is now. IMO coffee fades quicker than coconut, so in waiting for the coconut to drop off, the coffee will drop off even faster. This is if you prefer more coffee taste that is. Also interested on how the bottle will taste compared to draft because the consensus has been that the bottle is better than draft for all the recent releases.

I will have to disagree. Stuff like Ground State or even 2013 BCBCS, which I open every couple months, is drinking better than ever and both lost very little coffee notes if any in my opinion.

Looks like Bottle Logic and AleSmith are doing a collab double IPA for the OC Brew HA HA official collab beer.

I'm not disagreeing with that advice, especially since BL put that on the bottle. I'm merely saying that it's an interesting beer to sit on anyway.
