All the other limited releases have hit distro, right? At least in some quantity?

I wouldn't call it distribution as much as I would call it hitting a couple of accounts that have supported BL for as long as time can remember. No idea, I wouldn't be surprised if it did hit those usual spots, but the batch size was smaller than most other releases.

Right I should have clarified. There are a few places that have received the last few limited releases.

I am sure it will hit its limited distribution. I think this has typically happened after the pick up window. That way they know how many bottles to distribute.

this was a much smaller batch than usual though so if it does hit "distro", im sure it will just be a few cases here and there.

Isn't that what they normally do? It is not like any of their other releases were widely available. All the places that get double actuator do not get FO.

what im trying to say is it wont reach as far as FO did. FO even hit total wine and more.

by a few cases i literally mean a few... like 3 lol

Didn't realize it hit total wine. I thought it was only like the 10 bottle shops that normally get it.

Last day to pick-up Stranger Than Fiction bottles. I'm curious to know how many bottles haven't been picked up yet and what would compel a person to buy them but not actually make the effort to get them.

They do get refunded, so if they can't make the trip... No lost really.
    I guess?

I haven't picked it up yet, but that's cause I'm a lazy piece of shit who procrastinates far too long. Heading down later today. :stuck_out_tongue:

I have, in the past, given Smog City and Phantom Carriage and even Alesmith free money when I completely forgot about beer I purchased from them but did not pick up. What's the cause? I think it's far too easy to click and purchase a beer and then completely forget about it with as many other beer releases that pop up in the time between when you purchased and had to pick up.

I sort of like stricture time frames because then it doesn't give a person time to delay and delay and the completely forget about it. Like, Best example is Alesmith, since their window is so long, I constantly just put it off and then a month and a half later I remember I bought beer I need to pick up. Opposed to being a smaller window and that having more impact on my memory on actually picking it up.

Just had this conversation with someone else who also has tended to forget beers. I mean, big shit you're F5ing like crazy, I can understand not overlooking. But when you do a quick Phantom Carriage online or Smogcity, these tend to be the ones that slip by.

Hazeshift tasting great, but no haze. False advertising?

Maybe the haze shifted out of the beer.

some of us have rigorous works schedules / other things they need to do. i've never missed a release yet, but have come close. not everyone is a Monkish line bro with nothing but free time

Exactly. I've missed a couple of pickups because other shit came up. And I've missed every single Monkish can release because I've got a life on Saturday mornings.

Isn't he talking about @Earlycsquid failing to pick up beer that was already PAID for during a time period known at the time of purchase (i.e. free money)? You may have misinterpreted him.

Also, based on your post (and the likes), as well as the post following it, I think there's a lot of judging going on here. This sort of toxic judgment shit should be kept out of this forum. Yes, some people have responsibilities, like kids and they work on Saturdays. And some people, have beer friends and don't have kids. We are supposed to be on this forum to be united by a common love for beer, not shittalking because some 23 year old has free time and you resent the fact that you have other priorities that keep you from getting the beer you want.

Not judging at all. Just responding to the idea that "setting a Google alert" is going to keep me from missing a pickup, or, more judgmentally, that there's something wrong with me if I don't pick up beer I've paid for. Sometimes, there's just other shit to do, and I eat the cost. I don't resent my other priorities--I'm glad I have things more important to me than waiting in line for beer at 6am on a Saturday.

Fair enough. Some people can eat the cost, some people can't. And yes, I agree nowadays that I do have more important things that keep me from doing those things, but I also think it's good to not see it as a moral high ground - especially since not all BAers are the same age and have the same income. Is that a reasonable stance?

Sure . . . I just don't see the moral high ground part, either in myself or @Black_Rider 's comment. I think we're just reading things a little differently.
