He's clearly going to keep missing the point. He's also missing the sound of being added to multiple DNT lists.

Cheers to the bottle logic crew for giving up their bottles btw. Most of their allotments were cut down to please the masses.

What does BPT mean? Couldn't find it on google.

@JoshBeerNow seems like a generally good dude. Seems like someone I would trade with or have a beer with. His comment stirred up a shitstorm. Oh well. I understand his desire to protect trade value, it happens all the time and originates from nearly every region. Sometimes we just get caught up in the trade game.

    Back to the beer itself...

Didn't land bottles, but stopped by for a taster.

Thought the beer was classy, elegant. Vanilla incorporated very nicely, not artificial-y or "cloying" - if you want to use the word that everyone hates. Would rate it equal to or maybe a sliver below VR personally but once you reach the tier of that type of beer it's personal and moot imho... ABV well hidden and tasty as all heck. Only point critical is that the carb loss seemed a bit accelerated as I let her warm - compared to other BA stouts (of both adjunct and non-adjunct nature). May have been my imagination.

[can't compare it to Nooner 9 or 4Hands Madagascar, etc as I've yet to conceive a child to trade for those]

Going to need a bigger bowl for all these rustled jimmies.

I had no issue with the release, the BL crew did the best they could and experienced what seemingly every up and coming brewery has on a major release with limited quantity.

The fault lies on the consumers who are picking up too many bottles to profit (via sales, trades are mutually agreed on so it is what it is). When I see one guy with 4 friends actually asking why they needed to be there (mules) in line, that is what erks me. It sounds like BL is on board with BPT, so that should be the end of it.

Let's move on to talking about how good this damn beer is.

I'm going to try and say this as elegantly as possible. I have never seen your posts, or trade offers, nor have any experience in trading with you. I have countless people i trade with on here and many other trade forums and have always maintained a 100% rating. I've never been the the type of person to WIN the trade and if you don't want to trade with me because I am trying to keep the value of this world class beer high, please, go right ahead. I honestly could care less.

Its brown paper tickets. A website for beer purchases.

Agreed, and it is mighty damn tasty! Cracked one open last night, maybe a little too soon as I should have let it sit in the fridge longer. I love the glass to. Its exactly half of a bottle and looks awesome!

Eventually it's a "brah, you didn't camp out over night for this first time bottle release/unproven beer with your mules? ?!"

Not quite unproven, a lot of people have gotten to try it at various events recently.

Exactly. That was the one & only pure reason why I wanted this beer. Not because of the hype I'm getting really tired about, not because the possibly trade baiting qualities...just because how crazy good this beer tasted at the Bruery party. No one recommended this beer before that event, so it was just based on the actually tasting qualities. I guess I wasn't the only one who thought it was so good

This is only true of a few, local events. But this beer (and Bottle Logic in general) does not have the history, proven consistency, or national distribution footprint that many other, well regarded beers have (Bourbon County, etc...). Having said that, this beer is delicious. Bottle Logic is still relatively new, and I hope they continue to grow and succeed.

    One last thing:

Want to know how I got a bottle of FO? By being part of a community of beer lovers who get together and share bottles, pick up releases when other guys can’t make it, and trade $4$ no matter what. Just this past Sunday, we had a bottle share that would have blown your mind—nearly any sought-after beer currently on the trading boards was represented. No one was keeping track of who brought what, trade values, or any such bullshit. One guy who had a bunch of bottles from the dinner release of FO hooked me up with one.

My point is: there are ways to be a BA that aren’t purely transactional. They’re about generosity, making friends, and having fun.

It's a shame this occurs rather than allowing a beer to speak for itself.

bottlelogicbrewing We are BLOWN AWAY by your support!! For those of you who didn't get a bottle today at the brewery, we have just 44 cases that will see EXTREMELY LIMITED local distribution beginning early next week.
Thank you, thank you, thank you -- a million times, THANK YOU! We love you guys and are so grateful for the best fans and regulars in the business!

I wish I had gotten there earlier. I saw the bottles on the table and assumed they were all spoken for.

The unproven part was to point out that bottle logic hasn't made national strides like other sought after big boys. I think that a lot of this "provenness" that folks speak of in the hype of this comes from it being a good beer.

But remember, what you tasted at the festival was a blend of two of the four barrels. Buffalo trace and heaven hill. Which they said were the cream of the crop top tier, best angle picture for that tinder account. The bottled version is the four blend. While it's still fucking fantastic, it's not the same beast we had at those preview tastings.

I mean, I ain't gonna front, I got a case and some loosies last week at the dinner. But you don't see me trying to shoot for them whales all week. I gave a couple of bottles away over the time to people I've met at HPB releases and what not for cost, if not cheaper.

I def. agree with Jayorear. It's all about hooking one another up.
